Keep an eye on the letters though. We've seen cases where the PPC issues the ticket as a breach of contract - which enables THEM rather than the magistrates court - to pocket any monies paid, only for them to change tack later in the letters and try to change the process to one of byelaws.

It's rare, and very very naughty, but it has happened. They have 6 months from the date of the incident to bring a case in that way.

If you receive letters that suddenly begin mentioning byelaw 14 then come back for advice.

OMG, I've just googled his name and NCP and got a hit.....

It's not a particularly common name and the link was dated 8th July 2011 so it has to be the same guy. I can't believe the cheek of the bloke!

Why not write to your 'friend', at his NCP work address, thanking him for his facebook message and asking him to supply you with a copy of the judgment that he referred to. You can say that if the requested document is not sent you will conclude that a false representation was made which will have been an offence under s2 of the Fraud Act 2006 and that you will be minded to report the matter to the police. Copy your letter to NCP's CEO and their in-house Head of Legal. I think he might style himself their 'General Counsel' or some similar American affectation.

I believe NCP are up for their first court case Aug 3rd. They towed and impounded a car for non payment of past invoices and the registered keeper is suing them.

My favourite hobby now is standing in ASDAs car park telling people it's a scam...

Is that the one where they're chasing for 15 unpaid tickets? If so, then, as I said, I'm not surprised that even NCP got cheesed off and reckon that the court fee is worth it. A judge can find in favour of the driver, but still award the PPC the unpaid charges and reasonable costs, as in Parking Eye vs. Smith.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

I had exactly the same circumstances and 'wrote' to them a very stern letter with promise of actions I would take against them. I received a letter back on 16 July cancelling the ticket.
