Hi Saver, well done on your progress so far and sorry to hear about the rabbits. Don't replace them though, just love up that kitten - and your OH of course!
Having read through the thread, have you cancelled your mobile phone insurance yet?
Also, when are your other insurances up for renewal? Currently Lloyds TSB is offering £120 cashback for insurance through Quidco.
I agree that it would be worth selling that Madonna jacket on EBay, provided you do some research and make sure you get a lot of money for it.
Re your Vivienne Westwood habit, give it a miss if they are not prepared to give refunds for purchases. They don't sound like a very nice lot IMO. Should you find yourself at their cashdesk in future, just ask, before you purchase, if you can get a full refund on it. When they say no, walk out.
If you get tempted, check out the Demotivator Tool on the MSE homepage. It will scare you silly at the amount of money you can waste!

I am just taking a quick break as I have been busy doing some ebay listing.
I do my listing through a website called auctivia which means I can schedule my listings for free rather than pay a scheduling fee through ebay. I generally schedule them to start on Thursday at 7pm for 10 days which means they finish on a Sunday evening when most people are at home. I am hoping to have listed about 30 things to start on Thursday.
I am still not too sure what to do about my Madonna tour jacket but as I still have about 10 boxes of ebay stuff under my stairs to list I am in no huge rush to make a decision.
I still need to cut down my spending though on what is deamed as luxuries or at least find cheaper ways to enjoy myself!! I don't really want to change my lifestyle too much in terms of being able to go for days out and weekends away but I also don't want to be tied to this debt forever!
As always any advice is greatly received.LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

One week tomorrow and I will be flying out to sunny Gran Canaria I am very excited. Have already my spending money just need to find the best deal and change it now.
I have decided while we are away I am emptying the fridge and freezer and every plug in the house will be off so we can save on bit on the electric! Also, no gas will be used so we should be quids in!!
Unfortunately I can't do any ebay listing as I am away for 2 weeks but I have been doing some extra hours at work so over this week and next should earn an extra £93.39. Alos, doing extra hours has made me far too tired to do anything else so saving money that way too!
All advice welcome :money:LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

I am SO SO excited!!! :j
2 weeks in Gran Canaria and it couldn't come at a better time as work has been hell and I am SO tired.
I have decided to take £2000 spending money for 2 of us but we can always bring some back, and I would rather have too much than not enough. I am going to have a ball and not worry about money for 2 weeks!!
Of course when I return I will become money savy again.LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

Well I took £2000 on holiday but when I changed it back I still had £627 :j
However, I had run up a credit card bill buying bits for the holiday and other traets so have had to use that to pay it off. I have now cut up the credit card as it is apparent that I cannot be trusted  so it is cash from now on.
I am also going to be VERY strict with my shopping budget. I have put £100 in the cupboard and that is to last me from payday to payday (4 weeks) and if we run out then it's tough. The OH also agrees but there are certain products we cannot compromise on like HP sauce apparently!!! We already use some supermarket own brands so will need to see where we can cut back. I am sure there are loads!!!!
I am also not very happy with Phones 4 u at the moment as when I signed up for my new phone they said I could change my price plan after 3 months but when I rang up Vodaphone today I was told it was 9 months and I had to wait until February :mad:LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

As we have been so busy with work and weekends away we have not really sorted out t house since before we went on holiday and that was 22nd September!!! Plus we have added newly bought stuff to our ever increasing piles so we, well probably me, are going to sort it all out today.
I will also be going through my wardrobes as we have run out of hangers and space! Will be putting all the clothes that don't fit but I will wear again when I lose some weight in the drawers under the bed. This will free up space and as I am so determined to lose weight I won't need to buy any new when I reach my target. If there are any clothes I know I definately won't wear again I will check there suitability for ebay if not then the charity shop.
I really do need to sort through my cds, dvds and books as I am sure I have loads that I don't use anymore but as there as so many it is such a daunting task!! I already have LOADS of boxes that need listing on ebay and I am running out of places for stuff. It is mainly books, cds, dvds and celebrity memorabillia which I don't think are suitable for carboots and will bring more online.
On a recent trip to London I got the new Angelina Jolie film, A Mighty Heart, on region 1 dvd for £25. Pricey for a dvd I know but my theory was I would probably spend more than that seeing it at the cinema with food etc. and then buying it on dvd too. So I was thinking thrifty, kind of!!!
I have been spending a bit too much recently so will need to be sensible and cut down. I have however been doing some extra hours so I am sure it will all balance out.LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09

We have gas and electric card meters I think this is because we rent and it stops tenants running up bills then leaving before paying. I am not too sure how hey work and if it is possible to change who provides them. It would be a decision that the landlord would have to make.LBM 14/12/06 £21,947.17 DEBT FREE 12/04/09
