  • Turning mobile data off disables data roaming and does not disable wifi in anyway, i have been away numerous times this year and never paid a penny for data with o2. Think yourself lucky this is o2 and not orange who dont cap data and allow huge bills to run up that are seen daily on MSE.

Even if you switch on cellular data/roaming for 5 mins and recieve emails, mms or update facebook & twitter could of been enough to run up a £30 bill

I would get apple to check the phone if your adamant the phones data connections where switched off or if the handset is faulty!!!

At least they refunded in the end even as a good will gesture.........

Has anyone got any idea whether this is a software glitch? or a problem with a specific network?

I have just been to France for 5 months and I seem to have been ok when I turned data roaming off but left cellular data on.

You can always double check if you are still roaming abroad on the internet by trying to access the internet when you're not connected to wifi.

If so, then you must be roaming.

I'm using an Iphone 4 on Three network.
