Got email of rejection so i guess guys the brake assembly bit done it for me.

Anyone going for your manual remembers listen well to the instructions given.

Sorry to hear that mate. There was loads of help on here, but someone went and told jag/manpower that people were cheating (or at least he threatened to do it) so people deleted all their posts. which is a shame as nobody really did anything wrong.

Yeah i guess it would have been a bit of help if i was given a better insight before the tests.

I did the on line tests well as i completed both in the allotted times. Also i feel i did the magnet test via following correct procedure.

Its the brake assembly test the messed me up. When the instructor was giving a demo i just lost track towards the middle lol.
Kept on thinking about the first few steps.
Started it off quite ok slotting both main parts but wasted time with bolts. I didn't even get to complete the ending though. Gutted to say the least but i knew it that my chance was gone.
The 8 mins do go really quick i must say lol.

Im sure like any other job as long as one get training you get better and better at doing your job.
The brake assembly was a first time for me and i know for a fact a few more tries and i would have got it spot on. Then you could give me 200 to assemble no problem :D.

I guess due to the high volume to applicants one has to try to do all the tests 95% to perfection.

just found this page, can anyone tell me if the induction is paid

i had a start date but no mention of bringing bank details i.e for payroll just to wear safety shoes, bring packed lunch etc

the email did state that all offers are subject to reference and basic disclosure checks? i do hope they check all this before your start date because if someone is employed and leave give notice / only to be told they dont have a job due to a reference problem or criminal record , surely its wrong

i know they ask for personal referees i.e friends so has anyone been successful and know that they have checked their references or is it a radom check they do if they find a hitch in your application dates etc?

i think your start date/call varies based on how you peformed overall thoughout the whole process i.e online test, manual tests, online resit, interview, maths/english pera test . thats why the email states your performance is being reviewed.

I was paid for my training but I worked at Land Rover so they didn't really have a choice. The pera training is alright and the days go quick enough, they don't pass on your results to manpower, the only reason they'll contact manpower is if you're !!!!ing about, playing on your phone etc etc.

The CRB won't be a problem unless you have lied, I've seen quite a few lads pulled from the line and sacked once they get them through and see they do have a record.

    thanks for reply mate

what about the references i personally think its pointless asking for personal referees and they specify that its not an employer...surely you are going to give a name/address of someone who knows you well and will big you up and its bias?

does anyone know of there given referees actually being contacted?

looking at dates posted on here if some is starting on the mond 27th aug and some one else saying they start 10th sept its clear that jag are taking batches of people every 2 weeks i.e the pera training is for 2 weeks so as 1 lot are about to finish the 2nd lot start the monday etc correct me if im wrong. makes sense though as i doubt they would have 2 classes running parallel to each other 1 class in week 1 and the other in week 2 of course?
  • I just put my friends as referees and they haven't yet been contacted.

seeing as this is a moneysaving expert site
i thought maybe we could all discuss a car sharing scheme for people who are travelling from similar/closeby/surrounding areas?

obviously main factor would be if working on same shift, reliability of both the driver being on time so as not to let others down and likewise passengers not taking p!ss so as to make driver /others in car late would be essential aswell. not sure if it could work?

depends if people with cars are willing to do it and if people wanting lifts could contribute towards fuel % as an insentive to get a lift rather than bus it then walk to factory especially with winter coming up ..no would would really do it for nowt?

or does anyone know of a similar scheme already going on i.e via social noticeboards etc?

any feedback ...in the current climate its best to help each other out.
