Been invited for manual assessment, can any1 tell me what to expect.
  • You will be assembling a brake pedal, plugging harnesses together and putting some magnets on. It's very simple stuff. The key is to do it exactly as they demonstrate it, so pay close attention during the demonstration. Afterwards, think of ways you could improve the process and write them down on the sheet.
This is how it was for me but bear in mind it might have been changed.
    Good luck!

Wear tightest gloves you can for assesment.

Get part along with Jig make sure water bottle is to the top. turn silver thing at end of part in to a U shape and place 4 long screws into holes inside engine bay.

Get the jig place it behind the part in engine bay so it don't move and pull bungee cord hook into the hole marked with red tape.

Take break pedal and 4 nuts & extension bar in to car.

attach the four nuts to the screws coming out finger tight.

start with top right and work clockwise so top right bottom right bottom left .the top left you wont be abel to get to with finger so put it on the extension bar and then tighten it.

Return to table pick ratchet turn it on green side and tighten the bolts same order as above when you come to last screw top left use the extension bar attach it to ratchet then finish tightening.

Return tools to table And pick up seat place it in car from the same side you working on use the back door

Return table and pick magnets enter car from same side place magnets red blue green on to the spots in car with same colours click the sensors in and do push check on both to see if fitted (meaning click the cables in and then slightly try to pull apart to make sure there fitted and do not come apart)

get out car with seat go around enter seat in from opposite side remove magnets green blue red in reverse to what you put them on return to table and place magnets

Pick up last part and spanner start tightening outer nuts first finger tight then middle one then tighten all with spanner same order

return to workbench return spanner and place cap on table.

I (stinkyFinger) copied and pasted the above post from a previous post last year. it is not my typing..it looks spot on from what i remember.. anyone is welcome to correct it they feel they can.
if you read it a few times, it will all make sense when you see the demonstration.
ALSO Take note of tequillaKings comment!!!!

    good luck

    Yup there is also that.
Which is why i added "Take note of tequila Kings comment" to the last paragraph.

I only listed 2 improvements and stiil passed

Wear a tool belt to carry spanner
Use Battery operated Driver instead of hand ratchet
  • I don't know the Castle Bromwich number but manpower Solihull are closely linked to them I believe and their number is 01217004206. I hope you don't have to speak to a girl called Amy though. I spoke to her recently because I'm waiting for a start date and she was very rude and unhelpful :(
    Hope that helps you.

I work in fa2 at Land Rover and ur right about this Amy. Every1 on the track knows what she's like. Lol. Proper nasty, thinks she's better than every1 and gets WAY to close to the PL's if u know what I mean ;) Dunno how man power allow it. Lol
  • Is anybody aware of when Castle Brom will be recruiting?

    Thank You
  • Soon I imagine.

They have just finished another Sector based Work Academy programme there

Manpower are recruiting now on the website.
No guarantee that you will get CB tho as they recruit for both Solihull and C/Brom, so its all about where JLR want the heads at the time you get the call to start.
