Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.

Well guys, in about 12 hours il be having my assessment, any last words of advice?

    1. Do not wear tight fitting clothes. Wear a tracksuit if possible.

    2. When they ask you to get your gloves pick the tightest fitting gloves possible. (as you will have to finger tighten some nuts)

    3. With the magnets test, do not worry at all about bumping your head on the car whilst entering exiting, everyone bumps their heads except for the guy who demonstrates it, who has probably done it 100s times. Just remember the sequence.

    4. Good Luck.

To the person who asked about the interview day, go smartly dressed, shirt, tie, trousers, etc. They ask you the normal interview questions (why do you want to work for us, etc). There's a drug test, you pee in a cup and they stick like a cardboard stick that tests for 10 different things, then there's an assessment about how well you can read, write and mathematics as well, It's very basic and has no bearing on wheather you get the job or not. That is pritty much it, the interview was 20 minutes or so, then you spend most of the time just waiting to be taken to drug screening area and doing the reading test thing.

Jaguar as far as I'm aware are on summer shutdown too.

Can you please elaborate on what sort of questions they ask please?.. Thank you

Well done punk84 sounds like u did everything spot on! My mate did the same thing, made a little a mistake and then corrected it. After the assessment the assessor Said that's just as good as doing the brake perfectly, it show you can spot errors and rectify them Can I ask a quick question, what was your mistake regarding the socket? Just so I don't do the same! Cheers mate

    Hello, fruit Burst baby!

With regards to the magnet test i was also told by my friend who had his on wed (day before mine) , that he did 3 laps. but i made a point of listening out for how many the assesor did, and just followed his.

I can't remember the exact order if im honest. It was what i expected, maybe slightly easier. The two red nuts are pretty easy, the hardest part was aligning the center rod to the break pedal, that must be done before you start putting nuts and bolts on. If you don't then you cant put the nylon nut on. It's all pretty straight forward, read through this thread, expect the wordt do your best. There is no garuntee iv passed, i struggled with the online test. just have to wait and see and hope for the best.

Also it is NOT a NYLON nut. It is a Nylock Nut. Its a plastic nut of sorts that goes on the center rod.

My biggest piece of advice is this. Concentrate on what you are doing, don't panic! If you find yourseld panicking, take a sec to compose yourself, better to take that second than mess up the entire assembly.

Also, take a small bottle of water with you! Today was scorching and if you do the magnet test first you will be all hot and bothered and slow on your assembly. Im glad i did, i shared it with another lad who didn't have any.
