Anyone had an invite for a manual assessment recently for Castle bromwich/ Solihull? Did my online test almost 2 weeks ago, but not heard anything yet?0

I do believe they was on shut down for two weeks because I have family/friends that work for the company. Maybe give them a call? Can't remember the number but it starts with 0191
Funnily enough, got a call today to do the assessment on Tuesday. Does anyone know if the assessment still involves the brake pedal assembly? I failed my first attempt at the manual assessment in September, when i made a stupid mistake and back then it was the brake pedal, so dont want to go there on Tuesday and see something completely different?
Also last time the mistake i made was really stupid, but basically i screwed some of the bolts onto the brake pedal the wrong way around, and then as a result couldnt tighten them with the wrench and time ran out. Might sound silly but is there something that i can look out for on the bolts to make sure that i screw them on the right way round, as i cant remember what they look like?
And if anyones got any tips / or maybe mistakes that you have made on your assessment then please let me know, i would really appreciate it. Thanks0 -

l l <Like that facing the thread for the bolt/nut.

Remember to take the wooden choc out of the engine bay and at the end of the test they will ask you too write some improvements on the assessment. Put something about introducing power tools/electric tools into it too make it easier and faster.0 -
The bolts/nuts are flared inwards and that's the bit you need to have facing the thread. Like this below

Thanks alot for your help mate, i really appreciate it. Its a bit hard to understand what you mean with the bolts (Im crap at DIY), dont suppose you can find a picture so i know what you mean?
Also the timings in the email have got me slightly worried, for my 1st assessment the email read "assessments will take approximately 30 mins to complete, however you are likely to be on site for up to 1 hour.

Do you think they have changed the assessment?

I done the Online Assessment on Sunday & today had a phone call asking me to attend Halewood on Tuesday next week for the Manual Assessment.
Has anyone done the Halewood Assessment recently ?
I'm expecting the Magnet test with the request for 5 ways to improve it.
Also the Brake assembly .... Is there a chance this could be the Clutch though ?
I've got a Wedding where I'm Best Man to go to, Stag Doo Thur 11th June - Sun 15th June & Wedding on Friday17th June.
Would I be best telling them about this or say I've nothing booked ? If it's a case of not getting the job or missing these commitments, It would be the job that comes 1st - I think my mate would understand.
I've actually read/scanned through the 182 pages of this thread & there's been loads about wages but I've not seen anything about the company pension scheme. Has anyone got any details of the pension ?
Thanks for any help/advice
Tell them about your holiday dates otherwise you will find yourself in trouble
Also you can't enrol into the JLR pension till your STC. The pension is worth it, you contribute 6% and JLR do the same.
Word of warning to people , if your joining now your not going to defiantly get a contract. You have to go 5 years with manpower to get a contract and that's only if thy have space after loosing core heads due to natural progression.
I've been here nearly a year now and am due my STC in about 8 weeks.
I know there is a big intake around June to allow body shop 3 go to 2 shifts. However defender has now been confirmed to end in December this year so all them workers will get the priority on the 3 shifts in body shop 3.
Also the new trim hall is going 3 shifts in about 3 weeks so some may get a start date for that.0 -
Just to add to declan199210's post, although you have to stay with Manpower for 5 years you still get the pay progression up to 100% during that 5 years.0
