    Bit of an update.

Apllied late last year, did assesments earlier this year then nothing even though their last e-mail said they'd be in touch within 14 days.
Then five months later (some kind of record for manpower) they contacted me asking if I'm still interested in working for JLR.
Within a week I'd had an interview, resat the online test in controlled conditions and did the drug test. The next day they announced the castle bromwich jobs.
I'm still waiting and to be honest don't expect much as missed the cut last time despite passing the tests. I'd still take the job if the offered one though.
  • To the lad who asked about the difference between JLR & Manpower staff.

Manpower are on only 80% of what JLR staff are on. It's usually a year before JLR take you on a contract. Again you will only be at 80% but you get access to the benefits. After a year your wages go up to 90% then 100% after a further year.

For the first year after being made an JLR employee you will be slightly worse off. They work an extra 15 minutes a day over 4 days a week which is unpaid but over the year it works out to be a weeks pay/holiday time, you choose what you take. You get excess to the car schemes (allows you to get a car at upto 20% off). There is other things as well, like local activities you can do which they'll pay for you to do (in your own time).

Ring them up. Don't wait for them to contact you again.
