Hi guys, found this thread really useful. Iv got my manual assessment Friday 17th. I'm really nervous already and I hope I don't mess up the assessment. I have no automotive experience, is this going to affect me in the test? Also I'm really struggling to understand the concept of the test with magnets. Could anyone give me any help.
    Thanks in advance

The fact you haven't got any prior experience shouldn't be too much of a hindrance to be honest. I myself have very little experience also and I managed to complete both manual assessments with relative ease.
The main thing to do is keep your nerves in check, I spoke to a few people after who all felt they could do better if they wasn't so nervous.
The magnets test sounds a bit confusing when people try to explain it via typing, when you witness it in front of you everything will make sense and I'm sure you'll find it pretty self explanatory.
    Good luck with the assessments.

Thanks mate, appreciate the reply. Is the brake assembly task difficult or is it just a case of staying calm n listening to instructor? Also iv heard there is a little questionare at the end of the task about how you could Improve brake, have you got any hints or tips on that cheers

Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.

The brake assembly isn't overly difficult. You have a set of instructions in front of you at all times so if you follow them you should be fine. It's a bit like following a set of IKEA instructions without the pictures. If you can put together a basic piece of equipment like a table or shelf you should be fines on this task.
On the small questionnaire at the end I didn't put anything at all. I didn't realise that it was compulsory. I actually thought that it was a suggestion sheet for how to make there hiring process smoother. It wasn't until after when a few people were asking what I'd put etc that I twigged. Don't worry about it you'll be fine
