  • Had the phone call today telling me i'd passed the manual assessment (which I only did yesterday!). Got my face to face interview Monday morning. Would be interested in finding out from you guys what was asked or said in there as things seem to be moving fast for me.

They are moving things along very quick as they have such a short space of time to get 500 people in through the doors !

    Yeah I start Tuesday mate!

The interview is relatively straight forward, fill out an application form, make sure you have everything they've asked for! No exceptions ! You then do a pretty in depth interview and then a drug test !
  • Could people please expand on the interview stage
  • Just had a phone call from Manpower saying that I failed the face to face interview....with no reason....I think I will kill myself today...If not...driving tomo to bmgh to get my answers...
  • Gutted for you buddy, how did you feel it went?

They need to give you a reason btw
  • Im devastated, 9 months old kid at home, It went fine, all questions answerd 100%, examples given, but Im not sure I should be intervieved by someone 5 years younger then me........Im 28, 12 years exp as a mechanic, now working as a paint sprayer (automotive). People with no idea about the cars are gettin this job and Im fooked. :(:(:(Im driving tomo to castle vale to get my answers about the interview. If not, I will wright official complain to JLR as Im working currently for one of their partners.
  • Hi All,

A quick question for anybody that has been given a start date if I may.

At my current job I am required to give 4 weeks notice but judging from these comments it seems they want to get people through on to the production line as quickly as possible.

My question is, does 4 weeks notice put me at a disadvantage should I pass the Manual and the Interview?

If somebody that has got a placement and passed the interview after declaring they need to give 4 weeks notice before they start could let me know that would be helpful and ease my mind a bit, I would hate for something such as this to put me at a disadvantage and a heads up may give me chance to try and sort something out with my current employer in terms of finishing in a week (As the turnaround time seems to be according to this forum) but how I do this I don't know.

Congrats to all that have a placement and good luck to those due to sit Manuals and Interviews, I have my Manual on Tuesday.
