Yes 4 week notice is a disadvantaged. My cousins partner went for his interview and he said he did rather well but then asked when can he start and as soon as he said 4 weeks it went down hill and didn't get the position.
There's that many that apply, they would just get the next person who can start ASAP, harsh but the truth.
Hope this helps and you can sort it with your current employer.0 -
Just back from my final interview. Now time to play the waiting game0

Guys, as I said in my previous post, I am up for my interview Monday morning. I got a nice phone call from a young lady yesterday telling me so and arranging a time slot. She then went through everything I needed to bring etc. Trouble is I didn't write anything down as she said she would confirm everything in an email...which I still haven't received! Does any kind person out there have this information (dress code/what documents are needed etc) Please can you message me.0

Passport or NI and birth certificate
Proof of mothers maiden name for police check
2 references Names and numbers (not employers or family)
Last 2 years of work experience (if on courses or unemployed need proof)
And it's a formal interview so smart dress code
Hope that helps buddy0 -

People with no idea about the cars are gettin this job and Im fooked.
:(:(Im driving tomo to castle vale to get my answers about the interview. If not, I will wright official complain to JLR as Im working currently for one of their partners.
To be honest if you failed the interview it's for one of the following reasons.
Poor response to questions not focused around team work and following processes
Failed the drug test
Failed the criminal check
Also if your working on site for a contractor and you declare it they more than likely will refuse you !0 -

A quick question for anybody that has been given a start date if I may.
At my current job I am required to give 4 weeks notice but judging from these comments it seems they want to get people through on to the production line as quickly as possible.
My question is, does 4 weeks notice put me at a disadvantage should I pass the Manual and the Interview?
If somebody that has got a placement and passed the interview after declaring they need to give 4 weeks notice before they start could let me know that would be helpful and ease my mind a bit, I would hate for something such as this to put me at a disadvantage and a heads up may give me chance to try and sort something out with my current employer in terms of finishing in a week (As the turnaround time seems to be according to this forum) but how I do this I don't know.
Congrats to all that have a placement and good luck to those due to sit Manuals and Interviews, I have my Manual on Tuesday.
If I was you I wouldn't say you had to give 4 weeks notice and play it by the book. If you get the call to start and are serious about wanting to move jobs, leave your other company high and dry mate, if you say you have to give 4 weeks notice the chance is you won't get a call.
The order for manpower changes by the week so they aren't interested in unflexable workforce I'm afraid mate!
Excited for a new chapter to start Tuesday with JLR and perfect timing with a 8 week old boy!0 -

Hiya, just a quick question. .. if I understand it, if you take your password you don't need yours NI and birth certificate? !
And what about ptoof of mother s maiden name, is that not said in passport as well??? Where should I get it from??
Thanks0 -
You will need photo ID.
I don't have a passport and nearly fell foul of this and had to get my driving licence updated to a photo one as still had the old paper type.
Mother's maiden name will be on birth certificate. Take everything you can think might be relevant for ID purposes, better to have too much than too little.
Or phone Manpower and ask exactly what is needed and if what you have is enough.0
