Hi guys, As promised, I'm back to update everyone. I started in Sep gone, and i am loving it. Just moved from Jag to Landrover, work is much faster, but ALOT more overtime! People are generaly quite friendly and will help you out. You do have the " old school" guys who have been there since the stoneage and are set in their ways and don't particulary like agency lads, but some are sound as. There are several things which have been repeated to me, by full time lads, every section and every plant i have been to. 1 ) Always turn up to work, unless you are actually dying, always turn up, if you are really bad, turn up, and go see the Occy helth guys who will sign you off home. ( I have done this myself, i was sent home with feaver and a temp ) Nobody, inc manpower will hold it against you, as long as you've made the effort. )
2.) Don't follow bad habbits that you see the Fulltimes doing, I.e walking off section early, resenting equipment etc, they have been there years and can get away with it, we can't. Do as they say, not as they do. Do your job as requested and nobody can pull you up on it.
I have been where you lads are now, and in the last 10 moths my life has changed dramaticaly cus of this job, all for the better. Those still waiting, keep chasing them up, keep your name bubbling to the top of the pot so to speak.
As for the classroom stuff, don't worry about it, it is literately easy as !!!!. multiple choice, as long as you pay attention take a few notes, you really won't have a problem.
I have to go now, cus i have 12 hours OT to get on with :P
Best of luck, will be back soon with update. Any questions message me!0 -
