Hi there, they have taken on a new lot this week but not sure of next week. I also heard people had been sacked for being late, not wearing their PPE and criminal records.

Mash123, PPE? sorry don't recognise the acronym. I don't understand how people think they'll get away with lying about being able to drive and not having a criminal record, just a bunch of time wasters, should be charged by manpower for doing so!

I did my retest on may 4th, give up all hope.I got a call Friday asking me to start Tuesday, I told the lady i really needed to give my current employer 1 weeks notice but she said "take it or leave it". I have been told by a friend who's worked there for years that they have filled all positions but like to have a few spare to fill in should people leave or be fired, bit worried now though in case they just finish us when all settled like last December when they finished 200 after the back log was cleared.

  • Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but Newcastle rang my husband today and said recruitment was over. He told him to ring Manpower Halewood for feedback. Gutted. Thankyou to everyone on this thread for the updates. Wish you all luck in the future.

I would assume that they would keep those who passed all the relevant parts but for whatever reason weren't employed on file for when they eventually recruit again, save time and costs, maybe I'm just being logical though!

i have been told many of times now that all the jobs have gone in halewood, i phoned them on friday and i was told they will be recruiting for a further two weeks, so there are still jobs remaining! he also said everyone will find out in the next two weeks at the latest. i done my 2nd online assessment on the 4th may and heard nothing, apparently they will send emails if not sucsessful.

I've just called before and they said the same, if you haven't heard you will and they will be contacting people over the next few weeks. Don't know who to listen to! I think I'll just wait and see, 99% certain of not getting it but will hold onto that 1% until I've heard otherwise :-)

My husband sat his manual assessment back in April I think. He didn't hear anything until two days ago. The email basically said that he had passed but they had filled all the places already. They have also said that they would like to keep his details on file for the next 12 months. So I guess they'll wait and see if there are any drop outs. At least there's a glimmer of hope and he's happy that he didn't fail completely!:)

jazzylaz do you mean your husband did the manual assessment and then the interview and re-did the online assessment or just the manual assessment?

If it's the latter to be honest I'd say it's just standard wording of an e-mail "we'll keep you in file" etc etc
