manual assessment at Jag/Land Rover

With regards to Nwest's post, what Manpower or JLR get wrong is that they don't look at the individual when allocating jobs. I am in a physical group, all the operators who work in it say it is one o.f the most physical on the lines, but they give someone who is huge a job of climbing in and out of the car and someone who is small lifting tailgates on Freelanders. The jobs are not braintaxing, but they should get their ergonomics right. Clearly you were lucky and got a cushy job!0

Out of interest, they people who have been taken on, when did you start the application process, do your manual assessment etc?
Just interested as obviously, if they recruit again (not that as I've heard yet... still) then I want to be first off the blocks :-)0 -
Well as expected... STILL NO CONTACT! As promised yesterday0

They can't look at people's physical appearance . It's illegal and called discrimination. The jobs in the factory are designed to be achievable by all. Man or woman. Large or small. That's why you sign off on your job when you can do it in the "takt" time. It may not suit everyone but can assure you my job is very physical too but easily achievable.0

how do u know there contacting people via email regardles if there sucsessful or not and what does the email say0
-
They are contacting people via email regardless if you are successful or not. Something to do with people missing the voice-mails i believe.
I had to go and change my address at the offices the other day and asked while there. Im in the same boat, tomorrow is apparently the last day they have allocated to notify people. Surely they can't have left it this long to tell everyone they have no job. Or maybe i just don't want to believe they can be that poorly organised. Anyway at least if we do get our emails saying were not gaining employment tomorrow we can finally put the waiting to bed.
sorry how do u know this what do the emails say?0 -
I'm just going on what's been said above and the fact that when I called the halewood office on thursday they said i'd be e-mailed friday (just gone) no matter what which I automatically thought (based on the awful treatment by manpower or at least the complete lack of transparity and/or willing) was bad news.0

i was told via telephone that regardless people would be notified via email and not just telephone. that said there might be phone calls gong out but i was assured that emails would be a consistent form of letting people know. Im still waiting on an imminent rejection myself.0

Ridiculous eh booka? At peadt put us out of our misery, I'm still 99.999% certain i've been Passed over for a position but it's the 0.001% that's niggling, plus there are literally no other temp out there i can do at present.
