I started 3 weeks ago and your training in the pal building for a fortnight is fully paid. Obviously you have to work a week in hand though first. I got my phonecall the same day as my online resit saying a start date. There's been new starters starting every Monday since I did.usually about 130/140 at a time.well done and hope you enjoy. I know I am doing
What date did you do the resit? Is the pay weekly or monthly?Everything Happens For A Reason....0 -
Hi
I am now in the plant. I have just finished my third week. I was in the 3rd intake, which was about the 300-400 mark they are taking approx 130-140 every monday, so I reckon they have now taken on about 800 people approx. I was lucky I did my resit on the Friday and was told on the Monday. When you get in you start a 2 week NVQ in B.I.T at PFL you have to pass this, its quite intense, when you are at PFL Manpower will tell you where you will be going. i.e. trim, i/final, paint, quality etc. then you get trained up on your job for about 2 weeks, its quite tough at first but you get used to it quite quickly and then you pick up your pay packet and you're happy:j
Hope this info helps

If you haven't had your interview/urine test by now then I think you haven't got it mate, most on here have done that and since have re-done the on-line assessment in a classroom environment at the PFL building.0 -
Called again just now, been informed that they will call you no matter what and that it's just taking time to get through everyone due to the numbers that have applied. The lady at manpower (very nice btw!) stated that Jaguar were the one's that requested how many more they need or want employing each week so they (manpower) are unsure how many more they need (based on people dropping out, not passing the NVQ etc etc) so... There's still hope people! :-)0

I dont want to be the bearer of bad news but I think Manpower already have those who are starting in the next few weeks sorted. The company doing the training have minimum failure rate,it is up to them to get you a pass as they get £2000 per person.I have not heard of anyone failing their NVQ, A few people drop out but no significant number. The press shop and under body in BIW are going onto continental shifts 4 on/4off,the rest are on 3 shifts.
We are on weekly pay, paid on a Friday
Hope this helps0 -

Thanks for the info, just out of interest how do you know the agency has the people their taking on in the next few weeks? It's my understanding that they are contacting people each Monday to arrange starting dates etc, so will still be contacting those that are still to (potentially) begin up to and including the end of July.
Cheers0 -
i done my 2nd online assessment at pfl on the 4th may, i phoned today to see what was happening as ive been waiting for 5 weeks, and the lady told me they are still in the process of contacting people so its just a matter of waiting, as she said they are working down a list, so there are still jobs remaining.0
