Don't most offices have a 'dress code'? I do think strappy tops , maxi dresses and flip flops are not very suitable for work.

My pet hate is for all the people who like acon.
You get women wearing skimpy outfits who then complain if you put air con on full as we have shirt and ties on.
They do not appreciate having a body warmer handed to them when your trying to cool the room down.

At the moment we're in the middle of a mini heat wave here but I'm sat in the office with leggings on under my skirt and a big fleece on over my top but I'm still freezing cold because the air con is on full blast. It's ridiculous and I am certainly not one for wearing skimpy clothes!

My pet hate is people who like Aircon, or more specifically, use it as refrigeration. Aircon should be set to around 26 degrees and used to keep the heat off, not to chill a room to 18 degrees.

I can understand the need for a uniform, but the insistance on wearing certain clothes because they 'look professional' drive me insane. Mainly because whenever myself or my partner get suited up, we look ridiculous.

I look far smarter in casual stuff than I ever have in a suit.

I also find the sexual inequality of men usually having to have short hair, while women can have whatever hair length they like to be unfair. It's one thing to decree what someone can wear inside the workplace, but another to decree something that affects them in their home-life as well.
  • we should have a national tie burning day - like the bra burning.

I'm sick of being strangled all day just to sit at my PC. I dont think i've ever seen a client come into the IT room

Burn the tie! burn the tie!

You probably guessed - i hate ties

Here here for more equality in the work place!
The flip side of the OP's rant is that sometimes women are expected to dress in a slightly provocative way wearing heels that are too high for comfort and with a 'minimum make up requirement'.
Personally I won't rest till men are required to come to work in figure hugging clothes and full lip gloss. Courses in being just the right side of flirtatious will be mandatory. ;)

Ties are the most pointless things ever. Though we had one amusing moment with a former employer (which banned jewellery on the grounds of health and safety but made ties compulsory) when a colleague got his tie caught in a rampant shredder and would have been throttled - without the assistance of someone wielding a large pair of scissors..... ;)

What on earth? 26 degrees is pretty hot. Most offices would be heated to around 21/22 degrees in winter. Why wouldn't they be cooled to the same in summer?
