However a serious answer to your question, in case it helps anyone, is to keep quiet about any lack of deposit protection until the new legalisation comes in which is in April. Let's see if they plug the loopholes and improve things for tenants as has been anticipated. Only issue then is will they backdate that to tenancies that have already started?0 -

don't see any reason they shouldn't, if they change the law, then surely it's applicable to all current leases also? Just making assumptions...
