Receiving panelist, After checking and recording the information below, please put this insert back inside the test envelope, before returning it to Research International......
So do I just put the envelope and insert into a smart envelope and post it, or is there another way to do it. Also, should I leave the SMART inside when I return it?
    Many thanks.

    You ignore that instruction!

All the stationary still says that, but it's no longer necessary. They changed it a while ago, clearly they have lots of old inserts etc. to use up.

You just throw away the test slip/envelope (once you're sure you've checked all the details), & you keep hold of the SMART until instructed to use it yourself in an item you post, or until you're specifically instructed online to return that particular smart.

Quick question to the more knowledgeable here.
I received an item today (window type envelope), and when I opened it the sheet that contained my address had on the top of it.... No, these are old instructions and no longer apply as we no longer have to return the letters/envelopes we receive, just shred or dispose safely any sensitive data that could give you or the sender away.

You have to keep the smart as you will need it to put in a letter that you send when it says add smart on the posting information, it will appear in your list of smarts available in manage my smarts.

The only time you return smarts is when the manage my smarts tab turns red and the instructions there will tell you how to remove the smart from you list and it/they then get returned in a grey smart return envelope.:)

I do wish they'd sort the Smarts out a bit better - they've just asked me to return my only Smart, but I've got a letter tomorrow that needs one - stupid or what

Sometimes smarts are asked to be returned because the battery needs changting and because of this the smart wasn't able to be detected:)

Last lot of stamps was in the posting pack for w/c 25th June - so next one will be with a posting pack for end of July (or possibly beg of August if they're having any problems).

It's a small oblong package with a circuit and battery in it which emits a signal at various points of Royal Mail's system so that it can be tracked as it passes through each stage.:)

A lot of people have this problem it is not explained to you that you will not receive one of these fr a while. My sister just started and I confess I was stumped when I started. My answer to sis was you will know when you receive a SMART so don't worry
