Attention Virgin Broadband Customers: Why you should change package now!

I've just been checking my Virgin Broadband account since the Virgin Media changeover, I was paying £24.99 a month for the Broadband Plan One plan (8Mbps/unlimited), they now offer exactly the same service for £17.99 just called Unlimited 8Mbps Broadband and you don't get tied in to a new 12 month contract by changing if you have completed the minimum contract.
You can log into your account through http://www.virgin.net under the customer zone section, once logged in go to the change package section and on there you will see Unlimited 8Mbps Broadband for £17.99 or just call them on 0870 013 0070.
I phoned them to change to this price plan and they told me that I would not have automatically been put on this new price plan and would have continued to pay £24.99 for exactly the same service?!? Somewhat cheeky I thought.
I was actually told that it would show up as Virgin Broadband Plan Two on my account for a while but I would definately continue to receive the exact same service as Plan One.
Hope this helps.

...or the same broadband for £14.99 a month if you take a 12 month contract bundled with tying your landline calls to them.
I'm with virgin, having real speed problems evenings & weekends. Down to 200kbs when I should be getting 2mbs0 -

I thought my pc had a virus as it was so slow. Spent ages trying to speed it up. Thanks for the info.:o0 -
I'm on 2meg for £9.99 with ntl/virgin but yes it can get dead slow sometimes but I doubt very much if I stepped up to 8 that I would see that speed too often either.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

We have same with our supplier. We pay £17.99 per month but they ahve introduced better packages for £9 or £14 per month.ONLY for NEW customers,we existing customers do not count.
Trouble is changing takes 15 working days nd then setting up with someone else also takes that time so we would be without broadband for ages.0 -

Changing usually takes 7 working days - of which you'd be broadband-less for no more than 5 minutes.... that is of course if you are migrating via the MAC system
Altering your broadband settings only takes a couple of minutes as well - it is actually very easy, and quick!0 -
Alternatively you could do as I did and migrate to another ISP
I have been fed up with slow speeds after 18:00 it was worse than dial up, why pay for that.
Since migrating to Newnet last week I now enjoy speeds of 3000 instead of 250 during the evening.
I pay £12.95 as a light user up to 3GB with an option to buy more if I need to. £17.95 will buy you 12Gb, there is another option if you need more. you sign up for one months notice

CS are excellent, the management even discuss things in the forum with people.0 -

Well, I'm another one experiencing dreadfully slow speeds with VM BB. It's pretty bad anytime popular.0 -
Many thanks for that I have just phoned and they have changed the price so I have saved £7 a month. I have never had a problem with Virgin, but I do think they had a bit of a cheek not changing the amount.
Thank you so much.0
