I left their broadband service because it was shockingly slow too.

The only people who defend UW are distributors who have declared themselves as such and people who have not yet declared they are distributors. :eek:

Your motives on here worry me slightly. I mean, who rattled your cage all of a sudden? No posts since 10/10/08 then EVERY post since about UW. How truly bizarre, lol. And I don't think you are being entirely truthful with the group. Anything you'd like to share with us?

I am posting on a UW thread about UW. Why does that come as such a surprise? When I posted on a pigsback thread it was about pigsback. When people were slating Martin over Icesave it was about Icesave. Now it is on UW I am posting about UW. What did you expect me to post on, bearing in midn we are on the UW thread?

What am I not being truthful about?

At the time I got a £100 saving from a previous npower supply of utlities, and also saved £60 a year on my broadband. I appreciated everything going onto one bill too, just made life a bit easier.

But now it is so uncompetitive."

Fair play to you, you found suppliers that suited you better,but at one time they suited you, so why out of interest did you suddenly join in the attacks on UW?

That's exactly why I was querying this poster's motives, I had read back through his posts and also no mention whatsoever of the BB being slow at all . Now he/she suddenly, after posting so infrequently on MSE since 2005, gets involved on here and now ALL his recent posts are on UW and how cr*p they are. Very suspect. And, oh lord, to be called a troll by Quentin of all people. LMFAO! This is the 'man' who reported his huge 'friend' on this thread, Cardew/HughJeego, to the abuse team for his aggression towards him on another thread. :rotfl:

When a "friend" signs you up, and tells you all about the "triple guarantee", you would be inclined to take that at face value. (Which anyone reading this thread now knows it is a worthless piece of marketing speak - it's not a guarantee, and certainly doesn't guarantee your members are getting the best deals at all).

It is only when your members eventually discover the small print that they discover the element of the emperors new clothes in the worthless guarantee, and how much better off they can be by resigning their club membership and jumping ship.

Some resentment for being conned by a friend can be understood, can't it?

I read this whole thread, and lots of others on MSE and again and again UW distributors are exposed for making misleading claims.

I was happy when I did not know any better.

I was happy when I trusted my friend.

I was not happy when I realised there was much better and what I had been told was not quite what I had anticipated. That is why i get frustrated when I pop back into this thread and see the same or similar unfounded claims being made.

On the broadband issue - I had to change it when someone else moved in who needed a faster speed. It was only then that i realised how different two connections could be, that were advertised as the same speed.

I read MSE almost daily. I get involved in discussions when I have something to say.

I thought the Icesave discussion was interesting and got heavily involved in defence of Martin. I have followed this discussion over the last year or so.

I have now made a few more posts on a UW thread about UW. I didn't realise MSE had a posting policy based on numbers of posts on the right thread?

As I said, I read MSE almost daily and have been a member for years. But then I could have registered yesterday and it still does not make any difference at all. Why make it personal?
