I know UW are not the cheapest on gas/electricity, although they are better than my previous suppliers, but I have just saved over £400 on the Thomas Cook on-line price for a cruise using their shopping channel, we also save several £,s per month using the discount card and, now they have moved members benefits to the UW home page instead of it being stuck away under Prospero, it's much easier to find bargains from bikes to holidays, after 12m with UW, I am probably £500 better off!!!
just a customer.0 -
but it it worth the hassle of chaging for the sake of £10?
It all depends on what you want, Gas and electric prices are a much of muchness. UW guarantee to be cheaper than the main supplier in your local and national area, it's the rest of the packages where they come to the front of the pile. BB and telephone, mobiles etc and their cashcard. Y ou put money on this card each month for all your shopping needs ie sainsburys and petrol, argos, halfords, debenhams, boots etc, loads of different shops, everything you spend on that card 5% of that comes off your utility bill each month you pay your bill. eg if you spend £400 a month off your card you'll receive £20 a month off your utility bill. Also if u take 4 services with uw with telephone/broadcall( that's broadband and telephone package) obviously then all your calls are free, that's all calls even international calls to various countries0 -

Are you a UW salesperson?(Independant Distributor) If so you must declare it.
Not unusual for a first time poster to be spamming this thread on behalf of UK.
Gas and Electric prices are not "much of a muchness" they are just about the most expensive in UK - look on any comparison website for confirmation.
Their 'Triple Value Guarantee' is absolutely worthless!!!! Even the most hardened UW ID(those who actually understand gas and electricity prices - ) will admit that UW do not compete on gas and electricity prices.
Their mobiles are not competitive either.
Their phone/broadband package is competitive - but far from being the cheapest.
Their card is attractive if you shop in the stores that accept the card - Sainsburys being the main store. However you didn't metion that you pay for the card and each time you top it up.
If you do want the card it would be financial madness to pay £hundreds more for your gas and electricity to get the card. Just take their phone and/or internet and you still get the card.0 -
Yadah, yadah Cardew! It has to be said, that Cardew has 'issues' with UW and he makes his PERSONAL opinions quite plain on this forum. If you can spare the couple of years to read back on this thread, you might be enlightened.
However, he isn't the last word on anything, despite what he might think.
Investigate what UW has to offer (NOT 'UK' as Cardew has posted lol!) and make your own mind up. If it is beneficial for you then great, if it isn't then that's your choice also.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

Of course Maz neglects to mention she is a UW salesperson, and knows full well she should mention this fact.
The issue I have with UW is the misleading, spamming posts on MSE and just about every other forum.
One thing I would agree with is that any prospective customer(and indeed current UW customer) should 'investigate' UW prices!0 -
LOL. Talking of the cashback card, I never realised until today that Thorntons is one of the 5% retailers. Luckily I checked before I made the order tonight!
Ordered 6x Favourites Hamper at £9.99 each but on 3 for 2 offer. Then used a code on HUKD to get the beautiful Chocoholic Hamper (worth £50, see pic below!) for free! Add in £3.95 P&P, take off £4 Quidco and £2 off my UW bill and Mrs C is one happy bunny! £38 for £110-worth of chocolate.
PS I just can't take seriously a BT phone and broadband-using poster who derives absolutely zilch financial benefit from his retail spend when he attempts to tell other people how to save money. It's a wind-up, surely?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
