Ok I haven't got the will or the life expectancy of another 85 years to wade through this entire thread so can I ask a few questions about UW?
    1) Is their electricity considered expensive? I have been going through my Dad's bills and he is paying a whopping £131/month for a 4 bed house. To me this sounds excessive? I don't pay anything like that amount for a 2 bed house with a different firm so I was just checking.
    2) Their customer service for their broadband leaves alot to be desired. While staying with my parents, we got wireless set up. First got faulty router which I had to diagnose, then after they replaced it, I now get "little or no connectivity" and despite hour long phone calls with Bangladesh, all they ever come back with is "there must be soething wrong with your laptop!" having changed every setting going. Fortunately i have a computer guy who although hard to get hold of sorts its out over the phone in minutes. But I understood this service was all part of the "package"?
    Any comments, gratefully received!

Just wondering what the computer guy did to put it right.

Funny, I often feel the same way about yours.

I take it you no longer believe that doing the same thing but expecting a different response is madness then?
    Thank you.

I already explained exactly what the saying means. You are interpreting it to mean something else, that's where your problem lies. That's why I said you were not making sense. This is getting a bit Jimexbox now.

I would get weekend only inclusive calls.

I wonder what the financial impact of that would be... did you ever look at how much you'd have to pay if you were charged for those calls? (at the tariff that UW would charge you, if you'd take your fuel relationships lsewhere)?

So no-one can beat Carmines deal then.

Negative bills a sore point for The A.U.W.F.

  • Back on topic. Some amazing offers at Comet this weekend. Great for everyone, of course, but even better if you have a UW card (unless you are the proud owner of Quentin's increasingly fictitious-seeming cashback card )

Don't forget 3% cashback from your favourite 100% cashback site (unlike the afore-mentioned random I won't just suspiciously concentrate on promoting one cashback site). Then 5% off your UW bill.

The Samsung netbooks look fantastic value at £249 (less £7.50 cashback and £12.50 off your UW bill!).

I think Perelandra has hit the nail on the head! No other utility company could match MY wants and needs as well as UW. I'm not suggesting anybody else should change to UW, I like the way they conduct business and i'm sticking with it. Some people on here don't seem to like that, which doesn't really bother me, as long as i'm happy!!

I know you willing to pay a huge premium for monthly billing, so at what point would you say this 'perk' is simply too expensive? Or would you be willing to pay whatever for this unique billing system?

Very rich coming from someone who can't even persuade his wife to make (or even just try, lol) a small change in order to save over £300 a year on utilities . When your own money saving credentials are beyond reproach feel free to come on here and pontificate. Until that time stop being a hypocrite.

I don't consider 9.00 to be a huge premium, but your allowed your opinion! I would maybe have considered changing suppliers if I could save upwards of 15.00+ a month. I value good service though and I know what npower and BG's customer service is like (dire in my opinion!) I know we obviously have different opinions on this, you want to pay as little for your electricity and gas as possible, I don't mind paying a little extra and receiving better customer service and bills that suit my needs. Can you accept this?

If you take all 4 services, janninew, then the £9 you are paying 'extra' per month compared to the cheapest online G&E deal is totally negated by the 'extras' you get on the phone/bb/calls package.

The introduction of the cashback card has sent the detractors into a spin (Quentin has even invented a better one, lol). Only problem being their monstrous egos (online only, certainly in at least one case) can't allow them to accept that, for some, this is the best deal out there.

I was just wondering janninew, is the £9 extra just for the energy not including the multi service discounts by taking the other services and the cashback card reduction.
