Just imagine how you'd feel if you were one of their members, who signed up via your brother-in-law! (Without having read the threads here to get a better insight into the whole operation, and the tricks their reps are prepared to stoop to just to get a gullible customer on the books!)[/quote]
Quentin remember most UW reps wouldnt stoop so low so please refrain from using such termanology.

And, whilst you are in the mood for sticking up for the company that provides you with your livelihood, what justification is there for the constant superseding of the online tariffs (apart from a need to rip-off your existing loyal online customers in order to fund the latest charge to the top of the switching site)?. For instance, where do you think Click 5 would come on my usage in the switching sites now if it was still available? Above or below UW?
As I don't make those kind of decisions, I don't know what the real justification was, but I'm sure there was a financial side to it.
As to Click 5 vs UW, Click 5 is about £105/£111 cheaper (Medium/high user on UW).
Do you get the idea I should be doing something else and am procrastinating?0 -

1. I believe it is now 25,000 representatives for UW now.
2. You are correct that to stay on top of things people have to watch tariffs. However some people, about 2 million with BG are on fixed tariffs and many like me have been on the same tariff for 3.5 years(and I pay approx £850 a year less than I would with UW) .
3. However even allowing that you might need to switch tariffs, it is still better than staying with UW who have consistently charged amongst the highest prices for gas and electricity.
4. UW's triple guarantee is a farce. Its guarantee is against BG's standard tariff and excludes any discounts from BG. I say again UW have always been one of the most expensive providers of gas and electricity. After the cuts on 01 April they will still be one of the highest priced in UK
5. UW representatives get many of their customers because they recruit their friends and family members who are simply misled into believing that UW have cheap prices.
6. UW reps spam and spam and spam - you are a prime example! No doubt that fits in with your idea of good business ethics.
7. When they are not spamming their posts are deliberately misleading. No doubt that fits in with your idea of good business ethics.
8. Anyone who wishes to switch to UW should go through the link that Martin provides and get cashback. Not telling your family and friends about that cashback no doubt that fits in with your idea of good business ethics.
9. Personally I do not believe that Energylinx do not get some form of commission for switching customers to UW - I know you rang the director!!
10. The UK does not have more expensive energy than Europe as you claim.
11. Your original post was ghastly, you have kept up the standard!0 -
Have you been drinking, Cardew? Your spelling and grammar has gone to pot, mate.Call me Carmine....

Once again, I don't have punters (or customers), I am an employee.

Thank you, that's all I needed to read.
PS But you DO know how many (or could certainly find out) are still on Click 1...right?Strange that you ignored that part of my post when you are normally so thorough.

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Sorry, thought that was rhetorical.
How do you suppose I can find out which of the millions of customers on the various fixed/capped/tracked tariffs are on one specific one?
Unless you really do think I'm someone quite high up.0 -
Fair enough. I'll leave it.Call me Carmine....

These are easy to answer. U.W.D.C. has to know what the standard rates the other companies are providing to know what to compare against. It that guarantee again. The other companies rates don't take effect until April 1st either but the price comparison sites have already been updated in many cases with prices that are not current.
The last of the other companies announced their standard rates over a week ago the rest were all long before that, Why isnt UW making people aware of their reductions, they must know by now how much they are going to put their prices down by.
All the comparison sites I have looked at have the most current prices, they are the ones that come into place from the 1st of Aprilthe bg click offers do go up. thats why bg click, click 2, click 3, click 4, and click 5 have been replaced by click 6. the older click deals go up in price. click 5 recently went up a lot when click 6 was introduced as 1carminestocky has pointed that out before. did you know that.
They only went up at the times of price rises where all tariffs went up, this is a common mistake, they dont go up, they are just replaced with cheaper. Those that signed up to websaver 1 didnt have their prices put up when Websaver 2 was released. It didnt happen when Click 6 replaced Click 5 either.I have seen the contracts and if say a person misses one payment by even a few days then the special deal is taken away. Even if the mistake was by the company. The clause in the agreement will read something along the lines of that. The company has the right to change the rate at any time it wants to. That will also be in the contract. If people have a problem they often don't want to contact over the internet and request a bill or that they can speak to someone and their rate will straight away go back to standard rates. These are the situations that I have seen people point out to me before. So they then go and get another similar deal and try again. It won't happen to everyone but it will to some.
Can you show me where in the contract it says that? I know people that have been on Click tariffs and SOL tariffs with Npower that have missed payments, they have never had anything taken away from them.
Can you also go back to your previous post where you say customers dont come to UW through comparison sites and explain why customers CAN go to UW through energylinx, I noticed you had ignored that question earlier.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Based on my usage being put into Energyhelpline the difference in price between Click 1 and Click 6 is Click 1 is £42 more per year
The difference between Click 5 and Click 6 is £4
Hardly evidence of prices "Shooting up" is it?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
Sorry, missed this one.Nothing against you as a person Swanjon you do need to earn a living and its not easy doing what you do but I do see the vast majority of people using british gas standard prices that become inflated in order give the new guy a special rate. The standard gas price for British gas is usually the highest price in the country. The electric price is usually more competative but is usually more than U.W.D.C.
Based on the check I made for Click 5, BG standard was cheaper than UW (yup, for some reason UW havn't released their prices unlike the other suppliers changing their prices 30 March - 1April).
I've said before that the UW bill and cashback will work for some people, but for others it would be too much effort, and the same can be said for serial switching, or even just regular monitoring - and no-one should be on any supplier's standard tariff if they can avoid it.
ETA- and another one where you waffle about tariffs without understanding the basics. You make it sound like the exit fees are never mentioned in the same epost as saying UW can't announce their prices because of the guarentee (which doesn't include the cashback card). But as they only 'guarentee' to be 'competetive' with the big6 standard tariff, surely they could come up with prices based on what the other suppliers have announced.0
