Word of mouth is not only the cheapest form of advertising but also the best. My brother in law started his own building firm last year (he's not the best with his timing!) after working for someone else for many years. He's an absolutely brilliant builder but he spent loads of money initially advertising in the local press/lealfletting etc to no avail. Fearing for his future, we hired him to build us a new garage, he did an absolutely fantastic job, we recommended his services to everyone we knew and invited them to see his work. Result? He's booked up until the end of the year, amazing in these recessionary times. Job done.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
So Energylinx transfer people to UW out of the goodness of their hearts?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0

Well if you want to transfer to UW(and pay their high rates for Gas and Electricity) it seems that you shouldn't do it through one of the 25,000 reps but go via Energylinx and get cashback.
These reps by recruiting their friends and family - and it appears some are such lovely friendly people - deprive them of cashback.0 -
Good to see vinnyph hasnt lost his touch.:D

You would have never guessed he is a distributor :rotfl:0 -
If they used comparison sites surely they would have deals with all the comparison sites like the other companies do. Why just use one. In any case each customer that comes in is allocated to a distributor in local area. So that the few customers that sign up over the website without first speaking to a distributor will still go to a distributor anyway and the company will still pay the distributor. There aren't many that come in that way, but there are a few. Why would the company pay the distributor and energylinx at the same time for those few customer that come in like that. It wouldn't make sense.
I have just read this again.
I apply for a switch to UW via energylinx and I am allocated to a distributor????
Are you saying that UW don't pay Energylinx, but UW pay their distributors who in turn pay Energylinx?
Is that really what you are saying?????
That would be totally in keeping with the UW's 'frank and honest' modus operandi!!!!0 -

Standard Spamming procedure of a UW rep
Google vinnyph to see more spam.0 -
It seems like they have gone home now 1carminestocky, I take it they work for one of the big 6 companies and get paid to put incorrect info up on the internet and to slander a companies reputation
Not really helping your case.
If they did work for one of your competitors (and I don't think they do), while they may be persistant on one or two points (and like the rest of us, occasionally mistaken), I'm not sure you could call it slander.
Is what they are doing any different to what you are doing (apart from their point of view)?
I think that everything in the last few pages has been said before at least once before, and nothing seems to be added.0 -
Maybe they like U.W.D.C., many other people do as well!
:rotfl::rotfl::T
So the reason they switch people to all the other companies is to earn a living by getting commision from switching people to them but they switch people to UW "because they like them"???Why do you think they need to use a price comparison site?
To be honest I really dont know the answer to that question, I'm surprised they even bother, I had to go through 5 pages of results on energylinx to be told UW wouldnt save me any money and thats on a website that CAN switch me to UW (although its the same story on all the others)
Do you know the answer to that one?Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
