Erm, didn't she post this on a BANKRUPTCY board?krisskross wrote:No I don't have another solution but the poor woman is obviously distraught about a huge hit her families fledgling business has taken and she is told how hard it is to be a bankrupt, and that she should feel sorry for people who go down this road.
What type of response did she expect?
I think maybe this wasn't the best place for tea and sympathy to be dished out.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -

Like I said in previous posts - I didnt ask for any sympathy.0 -
But when people said things obviously different to what you wanted or expected to hear, you got all dramatic about it.
What did you want to hear? 'Yes, we are truly sorry, we are bad people, who never think of anything but the easy way out?'
I think you had a mixed bag of reactions and rightly so.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -

When did I get dramatic?
Why on earth would I want you to say that?0 -
Ok, I give up. This is going nowhere.
I hope you get the responses that you obviously want.
G'night.:: BCSC #71 but now discharged! ::0 -
None of the other responses were anything like yours - I dont understand what you think that I want???
I asked a question and I got some answers - I was happy with that!
You have just come along and had a go at me - I told you that I didnt come asking for sympathy - although the comments sympathising with my situation were very nice - I didnt expect any more than that!
You have obviously got a huge bee in your bonnet about this - perhaps I have hit a raw nerve - have I made you feel guilty for something?

Right, apology accepted.
Sorry you saw it as a platitude. (AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

I really dont know what reaction you were expecting. You seem to have come on here just to lash out at bankrupts to consolidate your feelings that you have towards your own particular debtor.
We (bankrupts) have had to do a huge amount of soul searching to come to the decision to go BR. For me, it was the ONLY option that I had. I didnt deliberately run up credit before the event, and have provided the OR with details of all my financial details.
Its not just about money. Its how it has impacted the relationship with my partner, and planning a future for my child.
Sorry that you have been stung. Truly I am. But, as a business woman myself (bankrupt or not, i have run several companies in the past, very successfully, but all it took was one event to turn my world upside down) I have to remind you, that is what business is. Risk. You can walk away from this situation knowing not to undertake huge amounts of work without first getting a substantial deposit. I have never had work done without putting at least 50% upfront first.
Just a question though...why did you pay out £2000 pounds to recover a debt of £1400? As much as it hurts, I would have written it off as bad debt, blackened his name, got balliffs to go and recover goods etc. I would not have put a charging order on his house.
