Aldi, Lidl and Asda all got hit this morning but the total after voucher just £20.44. Also looked in at CBS and bought a large sultana tea bread for a friend for £1.50. This leaves just £25 for the month but I most certainly won't want any petrol and will just have to live out of the freezer for the last week if push comes to shove. I hope to move later this year so the freezer will have to be cleared out anyway. I keep forgetting this and cook meals to freeze them when I should be clearing out what's already there. Anyway I have loads of fresh fruit and veg and some store cupboard items like t-bags and white vinegar so they won't go amiss. My problem is that I actually like shopping!

Another grocery shopping fan here.....it's my fave
    hobby!! :rotfl:

I was planning a long walk to look for YS/whoopsies in Sainsburys, Tesco Express and little Co-op when common sense kicked in and reminded me that there is NO room in the freezer, zilch!!

So today became a "staying in and cleaning the UPVC window frames of my 2 huge bay windows day" instead.

    And therefore a NSD.

My 7th NSD of April :T

I had granola and greek yog for early brekkie while watching the F1 - great race!

Had Icel*nd Chilli Chicken crispy balls (£1.50) which were lovely and LO chicken fried rice......and that has satisfied my urge for a Chinese takeaway but at a nice low price.

And I froze most of the sachet of chilli sauce for another day when I do a stir fry.

Lots of LO chicken fried rice still LO but I darent keep it any longer or it would be a LO of a LO of a LO and would likely poison me :o

No idea about tea.....maybe a nice slice of cake and a cuppa or I do have a hankering for a tuna sarnie and a bag of
    Wosits :D

I've noticed quite a few of you enjoy granola. Have you ever considered making it? I make it for DH as I can then adapt it to what he likes - nuts no fruit. I use a mix of the cheapest oats, and some dearer larger flakes. I use the cheapest honey and butter I can get and try to buy nuts and coconut when they are on offer. For us this works out a lot cheaper than buyer it, and I know exactly what is in it.

When I make granola, I use sunflower oil.;)

Hi challenge buddies! Hope you are having a great weekend.

Just wanted to let you know...... the lovely baker at Mr M, when I asked him if they sold fresh yeast said "how much do you need?" I wanted 2 ounces (6 loaves in the BM) "I'll wrap it up and it'll be waiting at customer services for you when you've been through the tills." No charge! Free! That bread will taste so much more delish knowing the yeast was free!

(Felt a bit guilty when my total spend after vouchers was only £1.28!:o)

Just have to make the budget stretch til Thursday and then we are away for a week in Belgium and all food will be out the holiday fund (most is already paid for)- by the time we get back there will only be two days of the month left to payday. I was worried the budget wouldnt stretch this month but it seems to be doing ok so far! (Hush my mouth! dont speak too soon!!;))

We are taking the car and staying close to the French border so will be going to our fave supermarket and stocking up on merlot and sav blanc at E16 for 10 litres - I wonder how much i can fit in the boot?! I'm hoping enough to save the cost of the ferry:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:(£320 at say £5 a litre = 64 litres so should be possible and will mean I wont need to buy wine for at least a year!):T

hi, could anyone pls tell me where you all get your vouchers from and what they are for, i keep reading in all your posts that you have been to sm and spent say 20.00 and after your vouchers you only paid 2.00, i would be very interested in where you get them. I live in Belfast so we dont have Aldi or Wilkinsons or Netto, Farmfoods and we do have Lidl and all the big ones also have B&M,Poundshops, Home Bargains and a great big market every week.
