I am on my 4th nsd - really do not need anything - not even milk, as i buy the uht stuff, which i store in the pantry.
PennyGrabber I am the same as you with regards spending. I don't really spend loads, but I know that i could do so much better, as my house is brimming with supplies that don't get used, so i am going to join you next month on £40 if that is what you are going to try, or will try anyway, and i will have to use that for salad stuff, cold meats, as i have everything else.

Yeah, let's do it together!! £40 it is...

Re los - just get them boxed/bagged up for the fridge/freezer as you serve up the meal.
I shopped yesterday with a list - stuck to it apart from - got a bag of As.. sultanas - 84p - for when I am short of fruit - eat a few for morning/afternoon snack. It is your money - I tend to think - it is my cash - I will do what I want with it - let the sms take it from someone who isn't MSE. I would hope more folk do become MSE.

It's not so much the putting them in the fridge I have the problem with. It's the using them up after I've done that! Still, my challenge for next month will mean that I'll HAVE to use them up, as there's no spare cash at all now.

PennyGrabber - hope all goes well re inspection and interview. Don't know if you are TA/teacher/office in school - 3 of my children are teachers. They must take after me - bossy!

Thanks - the inspection lesson went really well. I'm a teacher by trade, but I've been TAing for the last two years as a bit of a stress relief break. Interview is to go back to teaching in the same school for three days a week.

So not an nsd today, but I'll have to own up tomorrow. I'm abotu to eat my dinner. I know, it's late, but that happens on a Tuesday as I go to college and then do my shop.

    Night all,

Just wanted to say good luck with the interview Penny Grabber and well done getting through inspection lesson, from experience I know how stressful they can be. We're waiting on the Big O at our school which is not good for stress!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't get paid until Monday so have to see if we can manage another week out of the freezer with some small spends as I can't really do a big shop until next weekend.
    £180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

Florenceem - I hope your DH is OK.

I know what you mean about the fish and chips/fast food - I cannot face greasy stuff - it just makes me feel yack (I'm sure that word's in the Oxford dictionary somewhere :rotfl:).

Well the final total for April is £335.04/£320 . However, not as horrific as I thought it would be at one point this month. I'm hoping that when I finish my Uni exams in a couple of weeks I will have time to be much more economical and I can't wait to bake some of the recipes I've been collecting from this thread. Thanks everyone :T. Can't do the microwave recipes tho as we don't have one :(.
MR F started to drip blood again during the evening - so I found some adhesive strips to hold the gash closed - going to be difficult removing from his eyebrow tomorrow! :(

I have just made a batch and put them in the cookie tin, My daughter looked at them said they tasted ""awright, but why cant you make them like subways?"""

I give up I made 10 for less than the price she pays for one and mine dont have additives.
If that is all the biscuits you have in the house - she eats them or goes without - what I used to tell my 6 children - all of them survived!

£19.65 to add to the total. Got water, Cheese, bread, milk, etc.

I shouldn't need anything else before the end of this challenge :D and it will also be the first month that I come in so much under budget.

Jumblejack MWs are not very expensive at the value end - I think maybe £30 ish. I have a value one and it's absolutely fine for baking and general nuking. I think they get expensive if you want large capacity or special (programmable) features, but a bog standard one does the job just as well.

I was sitting at my computer watching GYHIO on 4od when there was a knock at the front door.
MR F stood there - dripping blood - now I smell of dettol!
Good job I am not scared of blood! It is like looking after a child. Mr F is so clumsy - dog pulled him - he spun round and went flying - got an inch long gash in his eyebrow.
I have patched him up!

Ouch - poor MrF, hope he isnt feeling too sore this morning!

What is GYHIO??? It's driving me bonkers trying to think what it could be ;)
