Feedback ratings.

I'm new to ebay and have made a few purchases and will soon be having a go at selling.
I have been leaving positive feedback for all the purchases I've made and had good service for.
I have found although I am making the payment as soon as I've won the auctions, I am getting little or no feedback. Is this usual?

Yes, it is. As you will discover when you start selling, you like to know that the item has been received before you leave feedback. So you wait until positive feedback has been left, then leave your feedback.

Not everyone does this, as you will no doubt find out in other responses, but I believe most sellers take the approach described above.

    Good luck!
  • This is pretty unusual, although i usually wait until the seller has left my feedback before posting mine. it might be worth sending them a polite reminder as they might have just forgot.

a lot of members will not leave you fb until they have recieved theirs. myself included now.
this is due to lots of experience dealing with the clowns/morons/numptys and scammers on ebay.
its a real dilemma, and there is no easy solution.
in an ideal world, i suppose the buyer should leave their fb first. and then the seller.
ebay should be looking at this problem and sorting it out. there must be a better way?
perhaps a default positive fb after a few weeks time lag?
    Get some gorm.
  • Yeah, it's normal. Remember that feedback is optional.

Some sellers leave feedback once a week/month e.t.c

However, asking for feedback has, on occasion in the past, been met with abuse and negatives, as some people are unreasonable about such things.

Feedback is left when it's left.
If it isn't left for you then accept it and move on, but I would maybe wait a while before leaving it if you're seeing a trend (It may be the category you buy in)
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

leaving feedback is not compulsory.....but you have around 90 days in which to leave it if you do...

No, no, no! Not unless you like to received negs reading: 'Here's the feedback you hassled me for'

Polite or not, begging for feedback gets right up people's noses.

I was just I asumed more feed back is left for the seller then the purchaser.

I'm finding some seller will not count bids from people with a feedback of less than five. :(

I did ask a seller if they minded me bidding without any feedback and the responce was positive. I won her auction and received my 1st positive feedback.:T

They have no choice - a bid's a bid, and all they can do is cancel it if they don't like the look of you. They can't stop you bidding. (Unless you don't have a credit card on file)

A brief note to persuade a seller you're not a scammer, just a newbie, will probably open doors in most places :)
