I'm not sure of your circumstances however have checked all your credit files?

It may be better if you open an account in branch rather than online etc.

:D Sorry, but I had to laugh. It does seem unfair! Perhaps it was a failure in the identification process. These days nobody is allowed to use the banking system without id checks. Just a thought. Maybe try walking in to a bank or building society branch with a passport and a utility bill.

Well, Equifax has 3 defaults and nothing else no cifas records, no ccj,

Last time i checked credit expert i had 2 ccjs, and 3 defaults aswell and again no cifas records.

How would having 2 CCj's on 1 record and not on the other best of it is there not even mine.

Have you tried to get a YBS Cash Transactor , Nationwide Cashbuilder or Clydesdale Savings as these will allow basic transactions - YBS will allow direct debits, Clydesdale comes with a Maestro card.

Incidentally, should you have CCJs if your based in Scotland?

Does seem odd as this would have suggested cifas, incidently https://www.noddle.co.uk is a free way of checking your call credit credit report.

have the CCJs expired or is it possible you have an address format issue which would make it difficult to electronically ID you. address format for flats in Scotland regularly causes problems

No need - just send £3 for your Statutory Report.

[EDIT: SOrry - my typo. The above should read "just send £2....."

Look for a credit union, you can join them and have 'shares' this is money that you pay in which in essence are your savings. I have a bank account and a credit union account - I use my credit union account for savings.
