I doubt it. Doesn't he have to return to his coffin before daybreak? Would his have tarmac in the bottom? The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0

Hi from the dark side.....
As stated they will not do anything in 99.999999999999999999999999% of instances. The only time someone would get taken to court in my inside knowledge would be when they have repeatedly parked in contravention of the terms and conditions of the site. I.E they parked there for 5+ days whilst getting a physical ticket on their car on each occasion.
Otherwise they will send you some letters and maybe some phone calls and texts but just ignore them. The best wy to deal with roxburghe, TNC DRPL and so on is to refuse to confirm your ID. This means they cant get anywhere as if they say "oh its about Mr X's parking ticket on 21st of Whenever" they would be breaching DPA.
P.S This forum doesnt have that much of an impact on our income. Some appeals letters are directly cut and pasted of this forum but normally include a payment cheque too. This is a bad idea because as stated once paid the appeal is pretty much dusted away by most PPC'sHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Thanks for a commodity all too rare in this business, guy- honesty.
I think we would all appreciate that this forum isn't making too much of a dent, simple reason, the people who find us are just the tip of the iceberg, there are still a lot of people out there who know no better than to play the PPC game.
The whole shambles that is private parking enforcement really stems from the vacuum of any joined up policy on the subject by the authorities. On the one hand we have the private sharks seeking to get rich quick by exploiting peoples' ignorance; and using blatant cheating at times; while I equally appreciate that those who know the system can co ck a snook at even genuine, fair rules. The system has been crying out for proper regulation for many years, but don't expect it from this Government.0 -
FA,
To be fair i deal with all the appeals from our company nationally and am also the only person to answer the phones this gives me full "control" (dare i say that word) over the whole appeal system,
I am a "FAIR" person and if i feel even our staff have been over zealous i will cancel the tickets. Im not sure what % but people do come up with some total carp excuses for parking. I appreciate you dont agree with this business but on the flip side what would you do if someone came and parked on your drive way so you could not get in?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. That's a hoary old chestnut, guy! My drive way is not dedicated to public parking... unlike a car park!!0

Compare that attitude to one by highlighted yesterday on CAG. In that case a couple were faced with a dire medical emergency concerning premature twins (one of which died) . The distraught couple made a mistake over a scratch-card private parking permit and are now being chased by Vinci/Roxbourgh over a £70 "parking charge", even though they wrote to the PPC informing them of the circumstances and appealing to their better nature.

Didn't put it on CAG, and probably inappropriate at this time, but I can see the National press putting that in a prominent place if they wanted to go that route.
Sorry, ppc-guy, while you are the acceptable face of the industry, it is cases like this that make one want to bring back hanging.
Unbelievably bad.0 -

I recommend reading through the BPA submissions to the parliamentary committee prior to the publishing of the POF Bill that makes this very clear. Did you think their proposals - including RK responsibility - sailed through the ministry with ne'er a substantial change for no reason?
As for the private driveway argument, ppc_guy, I suggest you think that one through a little. Car parks may be private property but they are set aside for the general public to enter on to without restriction. Many have that written into the planning permission they owe their exitence to. My private driveway is not open to use by the general public for any purpose least of all as a car park. Period. That is what the gates are there for.
This always was a strawman argument and has no logical basis whatsoever. Now, if you were to suggest that a landowner has a right to secure and protect his property I'd entirely agree. I'd also accept that he may take reasonable steps to do so but is it resonable to simply allow a PPC to erect a few signs and penalise people for failing to abide by some arbitrary rules? My gates were expensive and do the job they were reasonably intended to do.
If a PPC was truly interested in management then they'd control the parking not simply extract charges for the motorist failing to control themselves. That is hardly reasonable and equates to my opening my gates and posting signs around my garden telling people that they were trespassing and then complaining that they were there. My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
As before I do prefer control over punishment.
We approach people and inform them before we take any enforcement action where possible even calling people up the road "Excuse me mate you cant park there" to which we are often greeted with either a thank you or a chain of expletives.
With the story above about the birth that is a disgusting case and if someone PM's me the details where possible i will call my contact at roxburghe about this ticket.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
