Have flown Aeroflot twice and not had a single problem.
They now fly Airbus iirc and all the safety issues were from bygone eras of dodgy Russian Planes. They haven't had an accident for 18 years which is good enough for me.
I wonder whether those that wouldn't fly Aeroflot would fly Air France who have had 6 fatal accidents since Aeroflot last did.
That said, those on a MSE site claiming they would pay at least £300 more rather than change planes - Can I just ask.....What are you doing on a MSE site???
Moneysaving is about value for money. Not just the cheapest. It's about service, IFE, routes, etc.
Glad you have flown "twice" and not had an incident........ Statistics still show that the risk of dying on an Aeroflot aircraft is higher than a lot of other airlines.
Oh, and simply because an airline flies the same aircraft type, doesn't mean to say they are as safe. Thought that it would have been obvious that it is down to maintenance, crew training, etc.0 -
Why pay when you can get a free return ticket the govt is giving away. Even a free place at a university.
Even then, it's an offer I will refuse.
You might die suddenly in a few months. It seems to be becoming a regular occurrence among young healthy students.Money is not the root of all evil.
It depends on how you obtain it and how you use it.
Have you sold your soul to the devil?0 -

Having just checked, not a single person has died as a result of an Aeroflot flight in 18 years.
Almost 50,000 thousand people have died on Britains roads in that time.
I know what your thinking - More people drive than flights, and you'd be right. So taking into account frequency your chance of dying on a British road is around 1:250 or 0.004%
Having a fatal accident on an aircraft is around 1:10000000 or about 0.0000001%
So, considering Air France has an accident rate of 6:1 over the last 18 years compared to Aeroflot and that American Airlines, United Airlines and even BA have all had major accidents (though BA was thankfully not fatal) just what do you base your rubbish on?
BTW do you drive?0 -

I'd choose AA, UAL, BA or even Air France over Aeroflot any day of the week. Lack of fatalities doesn't equate to a safe airline.
Yes I do drive. Oh, and I was a pilot in the Royal Air Force for some years so my understanding of air safety is actually rather high.
In any event, air travel isn't just about safety. It's about service and experience. Aeroflot provides negatives in both respects.
So if you consider taking a massively indirect flight with a poor airline to be worth saving a couple of hundred quid, then great.
I don't. But then I tend to fly Emirates Business or First when heading in that direction.0 -

So if you fly First/Business, are the epitome of air safety due to being a pilot, and are happy to pay about £300+ extra for a smile and ice in your drink - Just what are you even doing on this site?
Or is it just that (like your arguments against Aeroflot) you and your claims lack any real substance.0 -

Being a bit silly now.
Oh, and if you think that Emirates Business is £300 extra, you really do need to check your facts.0 -
If I had £280 on me spare. I would deffo book this. Fair enough people say bad things, but I could drive my car tomorrow and someone could crash into me and I might die.
If you dont have much money like me its great to see far away places for cheap.2011 Challenge £276.71 / £11,000:T0 -

Which makes your argument all the more ludicrous. Comparing Emirates business class with Aeroflot economy -Crazy.
If you are used to staying in 5 star hotels then you are probably unqualified to pass fair judgement on a backpackers hostel.
