Will I get a better Sky Offer?

I have had a sky subscription for nearly 13 years at full price (currently £72.50) for HD, multiroom, sky sports and movies. I've had enough of them monopolising me.
I made 2 calls now threatening to leave, 1st call offered nothing, 2nd call offerred 25% discount OR if I move my phone over to them they will give me unlimited phone and broadband for just £5 per month (free line rental and broadband). They cannot combine the offers - the phone one works out best at approx £240 saving per year less £39 charge to move from Talk Talk (which they won't budge on!), so saving of £201 for a year.
I've said that I need to think about it, that I still wasn't sure as I knew other people had been offered 50% off, so have taken a couple more days to think about it.
Thing is - am I likely to get a better offer? (I don't really want to leave). Interested to hear what offers other people have been given and under what circumstances. Also is Sky a good broadband service as I have no complaints with my Talk Talk account.
Help greatly appreciated!:)

Cancel and they will generally do half price for 6 months after a couple days.0

Yes, I would work out half of your subscription and see which is the best option.
Cancel it all and they will ring you back in a couple of day.
Although, I have to admit its a good offer anyway.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Wouldn't bank on a call back, not heard anything from them since our cancelation went in0

Thanks - might be worth one more cancellation call then? The thing is if I agree to the phone package them I'm tied in for a year and will lose my negotiating power at that stage!0 -
mine is a phone package aswell and i'm only getting it for 9mths and she said i can cancel it anytime so why would you be tied in for 12mts;)fluffyedgar wrote: »Thanks - might be worth one more cancellation call then? she definitely said I would be tied in for the phone. Please can you tell me exactly what your package is?0

I cancelled my Sky last October after my 12 months half price ran out. Xmas they phoned and mailed me with a 50% offer for 12 months, I stayed strong and said No. But this week got a 75% offer for 12 months on a monthly contract through the post, I was weak and signed up so £23.50 for Sky World HD:)
So Yes sometimes they do come back with a better offer.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
The impression that I'm getting ,is that the only way to get an offer,is to be able to take up phone or internet packages.I'm on a Market 1 exchange which isn't unbundled by Sky or anyone else, and I haven't had any success at negotiating a reduction in my TV package..looks like the cancellation route is my only option...0

Hi i get free evening and weekend calls line rental unlimited broadband and tv (no disney or sports channels as we don't need them;)) hope that helps. when you ring just say you need to cancel for financial reasons don't say you know people who have half price packages just see what they come back with if it's not the deal you want just say oh i'll think about it then try again another day;) best of luck0
