Anyone with outstanding Luxbox's please open a dispute in paypal before you run out of time. Still no box and they are still feeding everyone with excuses.
Email received today:
Thank you for your patience with regards to April's box.
As you are probably aware, we have tried to switch delivery companies for the April Box.
Unfortunately, we have encountered some delivery issues with the new company and your box was returned to our warehouse undelivered.
We will re-attempt to deliver your parcel using a third delivery company instead, and it should be with you within a week.
We sincerely apologise for the delay, and we are grateful for your patience and valued custom.
We assure you that the delivery issue will be fully resolved this week and that your April box will arrive shortly and also your May box will be dispatched approximately in the week commencing 26th May.
The May box theme is an exciting one. We will be celebrating the best of Luxbox 2013 by allowing all our customers to pick and mix 5 unique items from our 2013 catalogue. So, if you are a make-up fan, you can pick 5 make up items of your choice. Or, if you are a skin care fan, then you can pick 5 of your favourite skin care products. Alternatively, you can have the best of both worlds and have a mixture of makeup and skin care products. We want all our customers to be happy which is why we would like to reward our customers with the power to control what goes in their May box.
An email will go out to you shortly inviting you to pick 5 unique items of your choice for May.
We hope the April and May box will excite you.
Once again, we apologise for the delay and we thank you for your patience.
Kind regards,
Lux Box Team
I'm sorry but I don't believe them.0 -
Thanks for sharing the email.
I didn't receive one, then again I didn't write to them, but still, you'd think for good customer service, that they'd send out ALL their members one.
I opened a dispute with Paypal yesterday for the April and May payments, and will raise it to a claim within the next few days if it doesn't arrive, which it probably won'tAlso cancelled my recurring payment too.
That email sounds promising, but then again, like you say, it's probably lies, trying to buy them some time.0 -
Hi all, I have just discovered this page and am addicted to beauty. I can't believe I haven't heard about these boxes before! Now I've been googling lots of them and can't decide which ones to go for! I want them all! :rotfl:
Also I'm being a bit dim but I can't seem to highlight the text of the spoilers! Is it because I'm using an iPad? So I'm desperate to see the pics and what you ladies have been receiving in your boxes.
Has anyone tried the mybeautybundle for pregnant mums? I'm expecting and thought I might try them along with GB or Birchbox.
What was the one for olive/Darker skin tones called and do you need to be recommended by a friend for it? I have Olive skin so thought that one sounded pretty good too.0 -
Should have checked my emails earlier, I did receive an email off Luxbox, so we'll see, wether or not the boxes do actually turn up or not.0

I use an iPad too, and couldn't figure out at first how to view it, and was copying and pasting the blanked out bit onto a notepad, and then I could read them, but then discovered a much easier way....just click on quote, as if you are going to quote a message, and then it shows you what has been typed.
The beauty box for darker skins, is it Amitee? I used to get it for a few boxes, but canceled it, it was ok, but I preferred the other ones I was getting more, and yes, you did used to have to be referred, not sure if that is still the case though.0 -
Amitee only lasted a few months. Was a good box though. Amarya is still consistently the best.
I'm trying to get back my luxbox subs but too late for Aprils as they took them March 25 >| Cancelled my sub last week. I think they're being rotten, trying to get new subscribers before they collapse in a financial mess. New owners have one failed company behind them & apparently couldn't close this new one (Pink Media) as they have too many debts.
Birchbox & GlossyBox are the more established ones and there's a new one. http://www.beautecobox.co.uk/ but I'm not bothering anymore as my money's tight.Noli nothis permittere te terere

Received my first SoukSouk box today. While I think the contents are ok, I don't feel it's good value as far as beauty boxes go. And frankly, I'm a little bored of the same few brands being thrown around - I know that natural/organic products are still in the minority but still, I'm sure they can afford some variety.
My box contained:16 page SoukSouk Little Green Magazine
Inika Organic Brow Pencil 02 Brunette Beauty, RRP £13.50 - could be used as either a brow pencil or eye liner. Wasn't desperate for one of these but can see myself using it at some point.
BalmBalm Fragrance Free Lip Balm, RRP £3.50
Haven't tried this yet, but I've not been a fan of the BalmBalm products I've tried before. This will probably get tossed into my small mountain of lip balms and never touched.
Green People Moisturising Shower Gel 30ml, worth £1.64 based on the full size's RRP of £10.95 for 200ml
Can never have too many shower gels! Smells quite refreshing but I'm by no means blown away.
Green People Nurture Body Lotion 30ml, worth £2.84 (full size RRP £18.95 for 200ml)
Can't have too many lotions either, though this'll have to wait in line. Although I do like Green People products in general, I'm not too pleased about getting multiples of the same brand in one box.
Dr Bronner's Hemp Rose Magic Soap 59ml, worth 88p based on £8.50 for 472ml
I have the 472ml version of this and use it for many purposes such as backup shower gel/shampoo, hand wash and lingerie cleaner. At almost half a litre it's obviously not very portable, so it's great to have a small bottle to decant into. Very useful multipurpose product to have.
In total the box is worth £22.36, which isn't great value for money by my standards considering a monthly subscription is £14.95 (including p&p). For that amount you can get much better value boxes from companies such as LIB/Betrousse.
Compared to beauty boxes offered in the US, we definitely get the short end of the stick. That and the quality of UK beauty boxes seems to be inversely proportional to the number of subscribers. For example, I signed up to Amarya based on raving reviews of their first few boxes, but when I signed up, I received disappointment after disappointment. I cancelled after a few months.
So from now, I'm only going to buy beauty boxes if I know their contents, or if there's a special offer guaranteeing excellent value.0 -
I would be wary of luxbox given my experience. I chose the one month option and used paypal. Luxbox then changed it to a recurring subscription which I was unable to cancel, I phoned paypal who told me the setup of the recurring transaction was fraudulent and paypal cancelled it.
The money for the luxbox was taken out of my account quickly, I was then chasing the goods which were mostly a month late. I was fobbed off so much with them saying a recurring subscription is a standard package. It my well be but I did not choose that option.:mad:0 -
I've not had a bad experience with Luxbox previously, except late delivery, but was always the case, so normal for me, until now. Hoping this setback is what it appears to be (April box coming soon now as per email), as have always loved their boxes.
My fave of Mays boxes was Amarya so far. They are hard to beat for customer service, so is one I'll always subscribe too.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -

Ah, thank you the quote button is a good trick! Think I will give lunchbox a miss as it seems there customer service is pretty rubbish! Hmmm just need to decide on Glossybox or Birchbox. Am going on holiday now so might have to wait until I get back as not sure when it will be sent out. It says if I subscribe they will send the may box. Do you think that means they will send it straight away or towards the end of the month? Might go for one of the one off LIB boxes too. :j0
