I wasn't that impressed by this month's SSB either. With the exception of the Palmer's Cocoa Butter, everything was a free sample =/
I'm not going to be renewing my subscription when my 6 months is up, though I think I still have 3 boxes to go.Everyday I am asked to be a magician, in a world where magic does not exist.0 -
Hi all,I am new here.
I have never come across beauty boxes before and now I really want one! Thing is I don't know which one to get. I use shiseido skincare (which i find expensive!) Do any of the beauty boxes get shiseido samples?
I have looked but can't see any that do. Which website does the best boxes? I am interested mainly in skin care. Any advice will be appreciated!
Thank you0 -
Hey all, as the above post. I want to subscribe and start getting a beauty box but I am unsure which one to go with, please advise.
Regards

I suscribe to several and the quality are going down hill fast. To sum up my experience:
She said beauty box- great when they started but boxes and steadily declined and this months is not worth the money you pay for the box. Really tiny samples and I have just finished a 6 month subscription with them and I won't be resubscribing.
Glossy box- very mixed some months are very good others are again low value. They have recently changed their advertising from "luxury samples" to "5 exciting beauty miniatures". They have said that they are going to do the occasional luxury box and charge people more. But generally there boxes have not been very good recently and so I have 2 months left but I won't be resubscribing to them.
Luxbox- only received 1 box so far (August) and was not that impressed. They are unreliable and Augusts box was not actually sent out till Spetember and then they decided not to do a September box
Amarya - Would reccommend. You get 1 full sized product and then a few smaller samples. All products are organic (I think). I have had 6 boxes and some I have loved others have not been my cup of tea but value wise I don't think you can go wrong.
Latest in Beauty- again very good value and you see what you are buying so you can choose if you like the product or not.
Anyway those are the ones I am either am currently subscribed to. hope it helps.0 -
Just picked my SSB up from the Post Office, hmmmm, it's pants isn't it! The sooner my jubilee offer ends the better - does anyone remember when we got our first box? Was it May? Hope so, 'cos that means this is the last box!
Roll on Amarya, as they've never let me down yet. And then the excitement of the BB arriving:)
And yes, Amarya are organic and natural!0 -
Just received my Amarya box. It was different from what I was expecting. I am really pleased as love all the products as usual. Bet there'll be some dissenters! (missing rolleyes smiley
).
I received all Balance Me products. I received the eye cream which I am a huge fan of (have tried several), so am happy, as have nearly finished what I'm using. (worth approx £8/9?.
The next item was a face moisturiser, which I'm eager to try (worth approx £4.80?)
The last two items were a Citrus and Spice body wash, plus a hand, and body lotion (both worth approx £5.30, haven't done sums properly, apologies!). The fragrance is to die for, it really is that good. I'm saving these for an impending visit to my boyfriend, and family (hopefully!), as are luxury products with a feel good factor.
I bet there will be some who moan due to the Glamour promotions earlier this year. I am happy, as have got products I know I'll love and use.
Another good box for me. :TNew forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -
Think the Amarya box is ok .. there will be some fatigue around the brand like you say Missli but all bits I'll use (eventually)0

My nails haven't been very good for yonks. I am over 60 so suppose they wear out the same as everything else.
What has been a revelation to me though is this. I was led to believe you must make sure all residue is removed from your nails before painting them or the varnish won't stay on. For this reason I always used to go over them with nail varnish remover before painting them.
My nails peeled and split and looked generally awful.
What I do now though and it has made such a difference, is I wash my hands then rub in hand cream making sure I rub plenty into the nails and nail bed then more or less straight away paint them.
The varnish doesn't come off any quicker than it would do normally, plus when I remove it the nails are much healthier looking. I think it is keeping the moisture in.0 -

Interesting, I wonder if its a specific cream (or type of cream) that doesn't interfere. Do you use the same one all the time? What do you use?
I'm curious becuae my nails have become far worse sisnce I started painting them again - I assume because of the drying remover rather than the polish.0 -

I don't use any specific hand cream as I have a couple of lots. I believe they are now better with polish than without. I used to think the polish dried them out but leaving my nails polish free didn't help. This was possibly due to fact my hand were in and out of water and although I did use hand cream I didn't use it religiously every time.
I am no expert, but have come to the conclusion the nails need moisture and by applying it in the form of hand cream then coating it with polish, keep the moisture in.0
