I've been with Virgin since February and can't fault the service in the slightest! We've been with O2 and Sky in the past and because of the distance from the exchange, we could only get up to 1.5meg most of the time, with frequent disconnections.

However, that's not to say the service is poor as I've heard others who have had brilliant experiences with Sky BB. I guess it all depends on how far you are from your exchange :)

We switched from TalkTalk to Tesco about six months ago, purely to save £10 per month and get (I think) £60 of cashback and vouchers, which came through fine.

However, Tesco have been poor at every stage of the process - had to call up to get the line activated even though it was a live line transferred across from TalkTalk, and got a call from the engineer confused about the telephone number as they had passed him someone else's details related to my address; had to keep calling to get a router sent out as the first two didn't arrive; call centre staff just not quite switched-on enough to be helpful, and when I was having problems getting the router to work one of the suggestions was 'Can you not just use your old router?'; and we have daily connection dropouts and speed reductions (0.5mbs the one time I managed to test it before the signal dropped), this is on the same line that TalkTalk managed an almost perfect service.

When I said we were moving house and wanted to take the line over, they said they can't do transfers as such and have to cancel our account and set us up as a new customer. I assumed the contract term would continue, but glad I asked as no, it didn't, they would have to set up a new 12 month contract again. Not wanting this, I asked what the cancellation fee would be to cancel early - they said that it would normally be £42 but because we were moving house, they would waive it!

So we're signing back up with TalkTalk, paying around the same as Tesco with a pay in advance new-customer deal, and £40 cashback.

Even without the connection dropouts I wouldn't go back to Tesco again, the customer service just wasn't good enough.

I have been with Tesco over a year and they are the worst I have used for BB. I have been trying to leave since September when my contract was up and so far not had any success especially taking my phone number with me.
EE were supposed to be my new suppliers but Tesco refused to let them have the line. I tried to sign up again online tonight with EE and it says I need a new line at £60 when I put my telephone number in. It also says the same thing on Talk talk.
I have had the telephone number for 24 years and dont want a new line/number. Surely Tesco cant "keep" it.
Money is only of any use if you can spend it!
