Can I inject a note of caution here please (no pun intended) on the whole "aren't the NHS dreadful" discussion?

It might not be wise to bring this thread to the attention of the forum team yet again as it's a very sensitive subject and they can't really be expected to stand by and let people make the accusations that some have made, there may be some legal issues to consider.

Perhaps it'd be best if this discussion was carried on via PM instead?

Also there are a lot of people on here either under NHS care, due operations or have relatives in these situations and I don't think they want to log on here for a bit of light relief and see this sort of thing being discussed.

I wish I could - it is too raw, I would feel like I am bringing the thread down, burdoning everyone with my problems when everyone has their own.

I know people post on here about things in their lives - whatever they may be - and they always get support - it's one of the thing's I like about it (and the drivel thread) but I am not there, I want to be.

I would like to be 10 years down the line from now and be the one who says "I don't forget but I can live with it as time has made it easier"

Or even better to this time last year when everything was ticking along nicely

Oh deary, I have no time to catch up I'm afraid on the NHS debate that seems to have occured tonight. Just read the posts and on this page and those that have been quoted. What devastating occurences that have happened to some of the Elite's loved ones. Sending hugs to everyone that this topic has touched. I'm sorry I don't have enough time to go further into it and read back as it's a topic that's very very close to my heart too what with all the illness in my family. Sending love and hugs to everyone that needs them, night night Elite, I'm up early to take Mum to hospital xxxx

Fully understand where you are coming from Kadison. I was doing quite okay until I read the post I quoted and it has completley knocked me for 6

I did not in any way expect to see anything like that on here, But as with anything there are 2 sides to everything and as I have read defence I have also read against.

It is a highly emotive subject - and I really do not want to be drawn into it - don't have the strength if honest.

Anyways, I am going to call it a night now, will be back tomorrow for another read - hope you all get more lovely weather tomorrow :)

I can see where you're coming from too and I'm sorry for your loss and all of those mentioned on here.

I lost my mum 10 years ago in similar circumstances to those being discussed and I can't cope with these posts so I will admit my post was selfish to some extent, but it occurred to me that my pain is not comparable to those whose loss is more recent, and I know none of us want anyone to stop posting on here when their need for support is at its greatest xxxxxxx

I can understand where you are coming from Kadison but I've seen some very deep and desperate discussions take place on here. Many of those people have come on to do anything but get some light relief. Isn't that part of the unwritten remit of this thread? It's a sharing/support thing and often very emotional if my reading of the tone of some posts is correct.

For the first time I've tonight shared some very emotionally troubling things that have been with me for 6 years and hope that this is not taken as NHS knocking or troubling to others:o

Sorry Artha, my post maybe came across in the wrong way.

What I am asking is for people to not make such specific and perhaps provocative remarks about the treatment of their relatives under the NHS as it may compound the grief and pain of those who have recently suffered a loss or the fears of those who are about to undergo treatment etc.

In no way do I wish to censor the loving and supportive community this thread has become, I think it's brilliant that we can talk about deep issues and be a sort of counselling area at times.

I'm sorry if I've offended anyone with my posts, it really wasn't my intention and I won't post about this again xxxxxxxxxxxx

Bit darker on a morning now since the clock change.
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.
