My friend's Grandson will not eat  He is 5 years old & refuses to eat anything except maybe a dry piece of toast. :(
He is waiting to see a specialist but until then they are at their wits end.
Even chocolate/cake/fast food etc does not tempt him
He is losing weight & they are very worried

I had a nasty shock a few years ago and hardly ate for a week, it wasn't that I lost my apetite rather that every time I tried to eat, the food turned to sand in my mouth and I physically couldn't eat.

I got over it by realising I was trying to hard to eat and I should just go to Maccy D's drive-thru, get something I'd enjoy and eat it then and there in the car park, and it worked.

My point is that have they tried just sitting down to dinner as usual, putting his food in front of him and just talking to each other say, and seeing if the lack of attention on whether he eats or not makes any difference?

I hope they get it all sorted soon xxxx

Hi hun, I'm so sorry about your grandad, i can't imagine the pain you're going through:(:A

I don't want to start a debate on the NHs as this is not the place for it.
    [/SIZE]

Sorry celebrate, I don't mean to offend you or your profession, as I read that link it's not sayin that all docs and nurses are like this, I know that a lot try their best, but there are some out there that simply do not and really should be not in the job.

I understand about all the cuts and short staff etc etc but that is no excuse for overdosing my grandad, giving him wrong medication twice knowing that it put him in kidney failure twice even though it was in his notes. I could go on forever with the errors made.
And that's not to mention some of the horrendous nurses who hadn't got a clue and had no respect, who would ever tell a person to soil their bed and they would be cleaned up later as there wasn't another nurse to help, that's not acceptable in any shape or form.

I'm not havin a go celebrate, I really hope you see that, and obviously you don't know all the ins and outs, but we weren't the only family at that hospital to have that treatment or to lose a loved one who went in for a minor issue a due to mess ups left in a coffin.
An inquest has also been called for by the coroner.
Anyway, sorry but I had to reply, not to have a go but to say my point as you have yours and I honestly hope I've caused no offence.

Sorry if this is all messed up too as I'm on my phone!

He's working hard, Nikki, and being creative. Paper and pen is still needed sometimes even nowadays to get the creative juices flowing. Be proud and suck it up! He's doing so well!

(((Ouch! And I sooooh get what you mean! :rotfl: DD at Uni)))

I know but I seriously think he eats the flipping paper:eek:But I also know you know what I mean;) We've just worked out his student loan and no way with the best will in the world is it going to cover everything and if he passes everything and gets to Cambridge they literally ban them from getting a job during term time. But on the plus side Lala gets to go to the Cambridge parents Garden Party on his first day:T:T
    I do!:)

    Wait!.....not that kind of fag!

    Happy:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Well just back from 2 T's and very productive it was. I used 2 £5 of £40 spends but on the 2nd one I was 13p short off £40 so had to quickly grab something to make it up and the cheapest thing I could quickly grab was a Curlywurly(Was quite delicious too, have'nt had one for years;)) I got loads of lovely flowers at 90%off but it was a horrendous scrum with 3 women literally scooping the lot up when they were brought out! So I went in from the side grabbed 6 bunches, kept 3 and gave the other 3 to this lovely old lady who looked shell shocked by the way theses women were behaving(Note to self, don't bother at reducing time in there again;)) Also get 4 packs of hot cross buns 10p a pack, and bread 16p(Don't know why I buying bread :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)Went to pay and the SA said hello your the coupon lady arent you, I just looked really embarrassed and said no, thinking about the pile I was just about handover:oYes your the lady who had lots of comfort coupons, I've been waiting to see you again cos I'm a coupon lady and I forgot the name of the website you told me last time!!She then put through all of my coupons, So a big Hello if you've found us:T:T:T

  • Afraid not, and even if you could get a decent battery (good look trying to find a genuine one) that lasts more than a few charges you will have great difficulty in getting the actual iPod open.:(

I gave you duff info HC.

Apparently it works OK when put in a dock type thing but nothing like headphones works so your other suggestion about there being something wrong with the jack connection is correct.

Not sure where to take it for repair so may just try phoning the number they gave us in the Apple shop.

Thanks you again for your help.

That's great Nikkilala, that you've found an SA who likes coupons. I've been called the coupon lady and it wasn't said very nicely :(. I used to explain how to get free stuff, to read here and where to find coupons, but the looks I got... I just keep it to myself mostly.

Most docks, whether it be a standard iPod dock connected to your laptop or an inbuilt dock in a stereo system supply power to the iPod so being in the dock will be keeping the battery topped up.

Next time you 'dock' it look at the battery icon to see if it's charging.
