    Good evening everyone...

Queen of Cheap...Happy birthday, hope your day has been wonderful..:):)

Shopping at Cribbs Causeway today with a friend and we collected our prizes from Hotel chocolate, were only allowed to redeem 1 voucher each but very happy with our free chocolate. Assistant told us that several people have been going in each day to collect prizes and that one woman had won 3 Ostrich Eggs.

Am loving this weather, spent the day at the beach yesterday....BBQ and playing cricket....:D:D

    .

    Thank you :-)

You should have done Cribbs tomorrow....you could have joined in on a little MSE Mini-Meet :j

They were 1 only with me too :(

Silly question, how do you get it out? Use baking parchment to line the tin? Does that need cutting a pice for the base and one for the sides (vague memory of my mum doing this) or can I be lazy and squash/fold it in one piece?

Its worth the extra effort. a circle for the bottom, just draw round the tin base. The sides 1 long or two shorter bits and cut it taller than the tin by a couple or 3 inches, cut little nicks in the bottom so it fits the tin better.

Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.

Thank you all so much for your advice re. Rustlers - least I know now what to do. My S didn't have 10 left - £1 each is still a good price for DH who likes that sort of thing

Floflo, my heart goes out to you, I am sure you will find inner strength to read a tribute for your Mum. My husband was so upset when his Dad passed away a few years ago but he found the strength to read at the service and said he was so pleased that he did so as it was the last thing he was able to do for his Dad. His Dad was Australian and we arranged for the Australian flag to be draped over his coffin and for 'Waltzing Matilda' (he always played this song on his piano) to be played as the coffin left the church. It brought a smile to people's faces at such a sad occasion.

My mum planned for her funeral and had Danny Boy as one of her songs to be played. She always tormented us by singing this whenever the opportunity arose. We are playing at the end of the service as this will be the one that gets to close family and friends.

I have no idea what is appropriate to say or read, I was just going to thank people for their support and coming to the service. Then say a few words about mum, she was definitely not a hearts and flowers person and it would seem odd to say anything too flowery.
