Excuse my ignorance, but how do you subtotal stuff first on a SS till? Do you just press to pay, then just scan again?

I'm not going to Google it to check because it will turn me off anything with flour in it but I think that a lot of flour is already "infected" with flour mites when we buy it. They must hatch after a while or something. Let's not even think about it...
