I've been off work with mental health problems and Cs shopping has been really therapeutic. This week I got two vintage suitcases for £1 each that I'm going to paint (idea via Pinterest) for dd room. I also got a Lakeland baking tin unused for £1.39 and a cast iron casserole for £4.89
Today's bargain was a pair of high waisted skinny jeans. Dad had asked for a £27 pair from new look about half an hour before and the cs Ines were £2.79 and in excellent condition. As she's 13 and still growing I really didn't want to pay the kind of money new look wanted

    O.M.G. I am SO jealous!

According to the guy in the shop, I had just beaten someone else to it who had phoned about it this morning. To be fair, if I'd known it was still there, I'd have high-tailed it to the shop and not waited until almost 5pm because it was easily the biggest bargain in a shop full of lovely, reasonably-priced antiques and has been on their Facebook page for days!

Quite right too! I refuse to pay full price for jeans and buying from a c/s means you're less likely to have the same pair as someone else!

I love vintage suitcases. A friend of mine, who has absolutely fabulous taste in vintage interior design and has recently restored her stunning Victorian 6 bed/3 living room house, has artfully stacked vintage suitcases & trunks at the end of her bed for storing bed linen and I think they're absolutely stunning. Then again, I absolutely love their house, it's the kind of house I'd buy if I won the lottery.

Went to the local hospice clearance shop and found a Warehouse summer dress for 99p. I bought it intending to give it to someone as I thought it wouldn't fit and when I tried it on someone had altered the straps and it was tailor made for me!

So that Tiffany-style lamp I saw in a charity shop the other day that I thought I'd missed out on? I went back today and it was there! They must have put it in the back to save space.

So I'm now the very pleased owner of a Tiffany glass up lighter floor lamp for £28. These cost anywhere between £100-£250 new!
    Sp pleased for you! :T

It really did have your name on it. :)

    Hope you're getting better.
    The suitcases sound a bargain.
I always watch Bargain Hunt and one pair bought a lovely suitcase for £12.00. I said 'I'd pay £12.00 for that' but it sold for quite a profit at the auction.

Yesterdays bargain was a plum velour gored skirt, very long, still with the paper inspection sticker on the label so not been washed and probably not worn.
As new M&S Italian Collezione short sleeved shirt for OH, shades of blue stripes, will look good with jeans.
Another 'everything £1' day and the shop was heaving.

    ETA:
the skirt was M&S Autograph so would have been pretty expensive.

An American guide to chazzer-shopping. I doubt it could teach us regulars much, but a sound investment of 5 minutes for newbies.

Come shop with me at Goodwill.

I use one for soup – a whole can of soup fits in and then it's convenient to warm in the microwave :T

OH tried on several smart jackets in TK Maxx today, all priced £59.99, but for one reason or another none of them were quite right.

He went home with the grocery shopping, and I popped into Age UK, where I found a brand new, pockets still stitched, M&S Collezione wool blend jacket in his size and the perfect colour (dark navy with a small fleck) for £5.99 :T .

I dithered as he wasn't there to try it on, but the assistant said I could bring it back if I kept the receipt, so I got it and it is perfect. I just looked online and similar, although not identical as it is probably not a current style, are £129 or £99.

The only drawback is that it is dry clean only, but as it doesn't appear to have ever been worn it will be a while until that is needed.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
