Really not impressed at the pricing of books at Oxfam, Goodge Street.

    Fiction £1.99, non-fiction £2.99. They can

    That's London pricing for you.

Still might be a bargain if some expensive / sought-after books slip into the £1.99 net. I've had a couple of autographed first editions which the pricer didn't notice and put out at the standard price.

An American guide to chazzer-shopping. I doubt it could teach us regulars much, but a sound investment of 5 minutes for newbies.

Come shop with me at Goodwill.

:T that would be heaven - a charity shop large enough to use a shopping trolley in it ;)

I once bought a pair of converse from a Sally Army c/s in a student-filled part of Seattle whilst on holiday and then wore them through the airport - got stopped and swabbed for explosives & drugs and I got a bit panicked as I realised my shoes had only been mine for 24 hours lol! Luckily there wasn't anything detected but I did wonder what I would have done if there had been!

My local hospice shop does 4 PBs for a £1 or 3 hardbacks for a £1.

The lady said the last time I got some it is because they get so many. I just donate them back again when read :)

£1.00 day at the local Air Ambulance shop yesterday.

In the morning, I bought 2 more 1000 piece jigsaws 2 for £1.

Popped back in on my way from my sister's in the afternoon and found a Monsoon jersey dress with elbow length sleeves and cross-over bodice in an Airforce blue with green and cream flowers.

And a calf length 'pure new wool' coat, brand is 'HIGH fashions', label says 'hand tailored clothing, made in England'.
    It has lovely contrast top-stitching.
Colour is between brown and tan, double breasted and the sleeve length is perfect (I have very short arms) which is what tipped me over the edge to buy it.
    Very smart and warm.
And I picked up 11p in the street so it really only cost me 89p. :D
  • Once again St Gemma's in Otley did me proud. DVD's two for 99p (got six) all books still 50p (showed restraint and just got one) and a new M & S shirt for DS for 99p. Total spend £4.46! The DVD's will keep Mr TA quiet for a while!

Thought it was going to be a week of slim pickings in the charity shops till today......

Bright pink M & S long sleeved T-shirt £1 from the Community Shop

Mink M & S crocheted stylee sweater, as new, (perfect shade to match recently acquired trousers), £2.99 in BHF shop

    and my star buy :j

Ted Baker electric blue wiggle dress with a neckline embellished with beads & sparkly stones, £12 as new from the Sue Ryder shop. Just Googled the dress to find it had an RRP of £285 and is currently listed on FleaBay for £175! So now I have a dilemma...do I try to sell my dress or do I keep it knowing I am unlikely to have many opportunities to wear it?

(Hope it's OK to post a link to the listed dress)

Also...many thanks for your input everyone on the 'copy Chanel Bag being sold in a chazza' situation....some very interesting views!

Also....I have started my big wardrobe clear-out...one down and five more to go...two sacks of suits, short jackets, handbags and shoes to be donated.:)
