Yesterday I saved a pencil drawing by the artist David Hawker from being chucked in the rubbish - I donated £1 so that I could have it. It is a bit battered around the edge of the paper but the central picture is fab - I checked on the internet and his pencil drawings sell for £100. I would probably get half that due to the damage to the paper.

I forgot another donation that I made to save something else from going into the rubbish - a professional icing gun with various nozzles and discs for making cookies. this also cost me £1..

How did you manage to save it- how clever to be in the right place at the right time! Very skilled and not something I achieve!

Isn't it wonderful when something you really want turns up at a Charity Shop. Happy news for you.
I really belive in this - usually only go in for books and am never disappointed if I walk out with nothing, but very often buy something that I've been meaning read for a long time! On that basis I don't buy any book when new, I just wait and sooner or later it will turn up. Just gotta be a bit patient. :D
In December I fell in in love with a Per Una coat in Marks and Spencer. It was £99.00, it was then reduced to £55.00. I kept monitoring the price in M&S (Anyone else do this?) But did not buy it.

Today there was one in Sue Ryder for £8.99! So at last it is mine! Perseverance is the motto here!:)
Well done you! I get a much better thrill from buying at a lesser price than full price.

Have made some reaally good CS purchases over the past month (clothes)...most of which I haven't even had chance to try on, as they have been snaffled up by my mum and sister. For a small price I have made others a bit happier!

Hope is not a strategy :D...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

    Just remembered:
I bought a Isle of Wight glass perfume bottle (I collect them) in our local hospice shop for £10 - in perfect condition.

It's a bit like this but taller and slimmer and my stopper is a shade of pink so nicer.

    Retails at £79.95.

I was hunting through the odds and sods basket in a Barnardo's and came across 3 medium size Kipling bags, all immaculate and clearly unused. Got them for £4.99 each - checked Ebay and the cheapest one, secondhand, was £35! :T
    Looking ahead
