Had a great week this week in the chazza/community shops..... :j
A couple of days ago I spotted a lovely Next white linen tunic style top...priced at £4...couldn't bring myself to pay that even tho it looked brand new. Went in today and there it was reduced to £2.
Also, on my favourite 50p rail I found a 3/4 sleeve cream jersey top with a tiny bit of discrete beading round the neck0 -
Today I got a couple of great items! Saw a vintage wool coat/jacket in brown and mustard yellow in Oxfam yesterday. Mainly drawn to it as it has the most amazing buttons - like edelweiss flowers! I didn't get it as my boyfriend said it would make me look like a granny, and not in a good way. Went past today and all the clothes were half price - so I got it for £2.99. For that price, I will happily look like a granny!
I also got a pasta machine for £10 (my dad paid for that as a birthday present!) Went online to look up the brand, and there's an identical one on John Lewis for £69.99.
I'm a happy bunny today! :j:j:j0 -
Hi all,wet and windy here.
Yesterday I threw away a bag of tat, went to have my hair cut this morning and couldn't resist a look in CS-4 new zips, art book for DGS,a Debbie Macomber book, and Mrs Dolbys Memory Magic, plus big round jigsaw and a felt mat to roll the jigsaw up in.
Good £8 well spent, but will have to be a bit more ruthless or disciplined .

Picked up a Russian pottery badger yesterday worth about £10 for 99p. Today picked up a novelty cookie jar, shaped like a cadbury's creme egg for £5.50, worth £10+ on ebay but bought as an Easter present for my mum.0

My obsession with the chazzer continues, despite the fact I don't actually need anything. Have got my Mum into it too, we occasionally spend an afternoon together, have a rummage through the various chazzers (me for books and her for everything else
) and then treat ourselves to tea out. The irony is that when I was a child she had a real disdain for anything second-hand and would always buy brand new despite money being v tight, she called anything donated "jumble".
Had a total chazzer fail today though. I was in Bath - a city I absolutely love! - but my first port of call was the Oxfam bookshop, which was closed for the day due to a lack of volunteers. Mucho unhappinessValue-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Just books today:
The girl you left behind - JoJo Moyes - £1.00 from RSPCA shop
and
Pub Walks in Oxfordshire - 75p-in mint condition, RRP £6.95. I love these books and a lot of the walks are new to me and quite local. So was really pleased to find this in the Willen Hospice shop.
Does anyone else spot "trends" in their local shops, either with items that have suddenly gone out of fashion, or with batches of items that all seem to come from the same person? In the Age UK shop there was a whole tray of Ricky Gervais dvd's, The office, Extras, his stand up gigs. It made me chuckle!0 -
From Age Concern - 3 Floor Dolls House + funiture and dolls £10. Needs renovation, but not much.
Absolutely love it.0 -
First day of working in the charity shop and discovered that as a volunteer I also get a 33% discount if I buy 2 items per shift:D I came out with a kitchen clock (I really do need one in the kitchen) which cost £1.50 before discount and a brand new Eastex dress - price before discount £3.50.
The area of the charity shop that I have been given to look after is the designer boutique area. It had a total revamp whilst I was there today.0 -
