I don't think he had any right to say anything. Tell him to stuff it. If he doesn't bother with any of you anyway, I dare say you would notice any difference.

Weddings seem to bring out the worst in people unfortunately.

    All the best.
I'm never offended by debate & opinions. As a wise man called Voltaire once said, "I disagree with what you say, but will defend until death your right to say it."
Mortgage is my only debt - Original mortgage - January 2008 = £88,400, March 2014 = £47,000 Chipping away slowly! Now saving to move.

    Hello all
Now my uncle has kicked off massively and written a horrible email to my mum saying that family comes first and that they shouldnt have booked that venue and should have just had it in a pub.

Solution: Send uncle an invite to a pub. Have a slice of cake and a pint paid for at the bar.

He can have a toast to the happy couple in the pub while the family that give a toss get to celebrate with the happy couple!

I do find it slightly odd that you look at venue that is the wrong size. We only looked at venues that were the right size for the number of guests we wanted to invite.

Entirely your chose who you invite, but sending someone an excuse for why you didn't invite them suggests to me that you know you should have invited them. Otherwise you just invite the ones you want and don't make contact with the others.
