    Browntoa, if you lock the thread then the people who will suffer will be the genuine posters and not the newbie.

    I fully respect the difficult decision you find yourself in but the 'newbie' is not a team player and probably doesn't care if you lock the thread whereas we do

    Surely there has to be another way? If I remember correctly the T&C's that we agree to when we sign up to MSE allow MSE to pursue people who cause disruption for associated costs? Y/N?

    The only person who loses if this thread gets locked is the person trying to get it locked. We all know who to trust with codes and can quite freely PM them between us all. As it stands just now some people prefer to post their numbers onto the thread giving that person the opportunity to lurk them. He won't be able to get any codes if it gets locked :)
