    3 lemons? Seriously? :rotfl:

The "3 lemon law" is a US consumer rights law about rejecting good thats go faulty in the same way three times.

PC World & Currys recently added something similar to their Whatever Happens service, and so used the "no lemons" name for it.

Your post is really confusing (especially as none of it makes any sense)

they are saying they cannot find a fault and WILL NOT CHANGE IT FOR NEW COMPUTER.
First of all - the no lemons clause applies if the same fault occurs 3 times. Obviously, if they can't find a fault, they cant use the fault to give you an exchange.

i called them to request a replacement as i wanted them to change it an macbook
And although you don't say it in your post, IF they were to exchange it, it'd normally be done on either price or spec. Theres no way you'd get your faulty Advent (which was probably £300-£400) exchanged for a MacBook (£1k), unless you were willing to pay the difference.

And there was me thinking that three lemons referred to a one armed bandit. Win some, lose some... lose a whole lot more often.

Come to think of it - that's a lot like shopping innit? ;)

PC World would only cover the laptop itself, ie the hardware. Since the issue was caused by the installation of software, and a reinstall of Windows fixed it, it seems to be pointing to a software problem. This isn't a problem with the laptop per se, and PC World wouldn't replace it.

Blunther, are you sure about that?

Surely they have some responsibility for everything they sell... including software.

That they do, preloaded, but the problem occours after several weeks, in which case it's more than likely something the OP is installing/updating/virus/malware. The problem is if a factory restore fixes it, it's usually not a hardware fault.

Aye, I think CoolHotCold's post is how I'd understand it too.

Am I the only one tempted to call troll?! It was the switch to a Mac that sold me. Along with the 4 GB "chip" for high users..
But just in case I'm wrong...

First off, OP, if you did indeed buy for gaming, you probably don't want to swap for Mac. Second off, they are not going to straight swap for a macbook. And third, like has been said above, way more info needed if you want valuable advice.

I did the same but got my post deleted by the mods.
