If so, dialling *#55# should prove/disprove it and #55# should cancel it.

However, I thought Reminder Calls could obnly be set if you subscribed to a Calling Features Pack.
I had,t subscribed to anything. When i read the instructions (at last lol ) I read how to turn the alarm on and off. Basicly like a clock alarm0 -
Got the same call at exactly 11.59pm for the past 2 nights
I've taken up the suggestions on the forum - no alarm call set and also when I attempted both "anonymous call rejection" and "choose to refuse", I was told something along the line that it wasn't available. Too tired to remember the full content of the comment
I'm really struggling here and exhausted. I can't disconnect the line as my parent's are elderly and why should I.
I reported the fault yet again to BT yesterday and was told that there wasn't an issue and my line was fine!!!!
Any thoughts on where I go from here?
Many thanks0 -
Is it a proper ring, that is does it keep ringing in the normal manner until you answer it or is it the equivalent of the old days bell tinkle?0

There was a post on here a while ago, someone with a very similar problem, and (if memory serves correctly) it was due to BTs overnight testing regime, that poster had trouble getting the calls to stop,I think eventually the BT Rep on here got it sorted for them...have you reported a fault in the recent past ?, because a fault report on the system may cause the line to be tested and testing the line seems to cause (in some circumstances) the line to 'ring' but it isnt a proper call thats why there is no number when you dial 14710

You're right iniltous, it was Paul Varjak's mother IIRC.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3692063Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Hi,
I did report a fault with my phone. The caller ID hadn't been working for several months.........since I got the master socket moved from the hall to a bedroom. I complained to BT for weeks to no avail. My partner searched for some info. online and managed to resolve the problem somehow!
Still getting the calls and reported the fault again this morning (twice this week now). They will look into it again.
Is the BT REP out there
I really could do with you help. 0 -
Hi Lobster123,
Sorry to hear you are having problems in getting this sorted. It could be test equipment causing you line to ring. I would like to take a look at this for you.
Please could you send me in your details using the link found in my profile?
Cheers

Words fail me

BT have ATTEMPTED to resolve this issue on so many occassions now to no avail. I'm still getting a phone call every night and the problem has been going on for weeks. An engineer told me yet again that it had been fixed just the other day but guess what..............yup a call again last night.
What can I do??? Where do I go next as this is exhausting me.....
