I would reply to her very rude email stating that I do not expect to spoken to like that and if I did not have my refund in X days then I would leave neg feedback.

DON'T say this, the seller can then report you for feedback extortion.

If a seller has other things to worry about they should not be making commitments to other people - strangers - giving them money at the same time.

It is their responsibility to sort their own life out - if they choose to take on eBay selling as well as everything else then that is their right, but then they have to keep to their obligations like everyone else.

Wow what a bunch of miserable sods we have on here - I'm glad I've never had the misfortune to sell to any of you lot.

Negging her is harsh especially as the item is good and the delivery was very fast... just be patient and wait for the refund that she has promised. Not everybody is perfect and maybe this seller just has other things to worry about.

Ebay brainwashes the sheep into believing that anyone who charges more than the cost of the stamps is a theif.

That's why sellers are leaving ebay in droves...

  • I think the thief is the person who states that they will give a postage discount and then fails to honour their word, especially as the total postage paid for the two items was less than the cost that the seller was charging for 1 item.

As to sellers "leaving ebay in droves", do you have anything factual to back this up, or is it just your opinion?

I don't think they miss your sales that much. Anyway, places like auction bytes and other commentators suggest eBay listings are increasing.

How much of the new volume is coming from Chinese BIN tat sellers?

I buy worldwide, although all my purchases today unusually have been from the UK. I bought some stuff from the US yesterday

I sell worldwide as well, more than 50% of my sales go to non UK buyers, although once again strangely my UK sales are increasing. At one point I rarely had a UK sale at all.

In most of the categories I sell in all my competitors are in the UK although I have a notable competitor in Ireland and one in Spain.
