Do you tumble dry all your Baby's Clothes?

I haven't got a tumble dryer or enough radiators to dry all our clothes, so I have a trip to the launderette, usually on a weekly basis in the winter. I think its probably better value than having your own TD anyway because the dryers are huge so all the stuff can go in together and it's 20p for 3 minutes so I usually end up spending about a pound or so. Plus it's only down the road so no major petrol costs. Oh, and the BIG plus is that I get half an hours peace away from DH and the children!!!! Stick on my MP3 player, read a magazine and relax in the warm!
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -

I would prefer to be patient and wait for things to dry and have an annual fuel bill of £600 for a larger than average 4 bed house than have a tumble dryer etc and have an annual fuel bill over over £1k.
Wow £600 is amazing. We live in what sounds similar and our fuel bills amount to £1,800. Admittedly I keep lizards so have 3 vivariums to heat but we do have solar to heat the water in summer. We rarely use our tumble drier. We mainly use an airer.0 -
Over radiator airers as the rads are on anyways. and even if they are not things will still dry on them but takes a bit longer obviously!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

Me too. I do have a tumble dryer but only use it for getting our thick towelling dressing gowns dry. Everything else goes on the radiators. In the summer I peg on the washing line and hope for a windy dry day0 -
Everything goes in the tumble dryer at the moment. We bought one about 5 months ago and it was an A+ for energy. I expected a hike in my electricity bill but haven't seen any difference. Checked out last years and we're using just the same amount of electricity. The tumble dryer can have at least a couple of loads a day !So little money - so much time :mad:0

We don't have radiators and very little space for airers (two bed through terrace) and so got a tumble dryer a year ago. We did manage before, but it was a real nightmare. I don't tumble everything, only those clothes that say I can on the label. Thats the problem with Primark, none of it is tumble dryable. Tescos clothes pretty much all are though. My mum buys lots for dd from there.
Talking about the electric costs, though. We only pay £360 per year and we have little electric heaters which usually cost a bomb."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
I broke my tunmble drier when i was drunk and proudly saying it was about 15 years old and still working
I used to use it in my first 2 flats as i had no radiators in this house i just dry stuff on the radiators, dont take long at all as they are new i think?
I dont use a washing line either as i'm scared spidders will nest in my clothes :j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Same here. I tumble dry for 2 or 3 minutes and then line dry.0

I use the dryer for almost everything. Some things do shrink but I used to find all my things were crispy if I put them on the radiators. Some of my tops I do put on the heaters - especially tesco ones as I find they always shirnk loads(not buying them anymore!)
We are moving house and new house has storage heaters so will continue with my friend the tumble dryer. I really don't know where I would put all the stuff otherwise. I find it so much easier to wash it then stick it in the dryer.0 -
I always found that baby socks seemed to shrink in the tumble dryer so bought one of those round peg thingies from bettawear to dry them on over a radiatorA dog is for life not just for Christmas.
How about a rescue dog?0
