Options
Afternoon All,

Bit parky today & got me thinking, do you fellow MSE people tumble dry Baby clothes that say don't, namely my DD's Primark vests, etc? I just chuck it all in but in MSE-style trying to wean off tumble dryer in better weather but not done so far this year, shame on me!!

  • I normally put them on radiators, they are on anyway
  • i have accidentally tumbled clothes that say not to, the ones with printed pictures and they crack, even if you only do it once they look terrible afterwards. sometimes i will tumble them for a minute or two though, if they seem dry on the radiator but are a bit stiff.

I dont tumble any of DD's clothes because I find that they all shrink a tiny bit which makes a big difference when they're young.

  • No - don't own a tumble drier, I use a wooden ceiling airer, above a radiator and that works very well for me.

Hi twinklybev, i use my TD for all our clothes, at least until the weather starts to get better. I did put some outside last week for a few hours, then not so long in TD. However, as my eldest DS has a grass allergy I can't even put his clothes out in the summer. So unfortunatley I still have to use myTD even in the summer, only not for quite as long. Although, saying that just remembered I've got an airer under the stairs, may use that in the summer when it's really warm.

  • Air, airer and radiators for us. We occasionally use the tumble dryer if in desperate need of something quickly. I would prefer to be patient and wait for things to dry and have an annual fuel bill of £600 for a larger than average 4 bed house than have a tumble dryer etc and have an annual fuel bill over over £1k.
